I am the WALRUS, dammit! The WALRUS!

Totally lifted from [livejournal.com profile] marinwood, who doubtless lifted it from someone else who lifted it from someone else, et cetera, et cetera.

I am The Hermit

The Hermit often suggests a need for time alone - a period of reflection when distractions are limited. In times of action and high energy, he stands for the still center that must be created for balance. He can also indicate that withdrawal or retreat is advised for the moment. In addition, the Hermit can represent seeking of all kinds, especially for deeper understanding or the truth of a situation. "Seek, and ye shall find," we have been told, and so the Hermit stands for guidance as well. We can receive help from wise teachers, and, in turn, help others as we progress.

Right now...

I really should be sleeping. Why do I always start these things when I know I should be in bed? Oh well. Old habits die hard.

Today was long, but not as long as I thought. We wrapped things up rather quickly. I was pleasantly surprised. My day also got a huge boost from the wonderful icon that [livejournal.com profile] littlesheepy007 was great enough to put together for me. I'm telling you, it's the little things that make all the difference. Or maybe I'm just disgustingly low-maintenance.

One manager gone. I didn't really know how to say goodbye to him, although I'll definitely miss him. Sentiment is not my strong point. A shake, a quip, and I was out the door into the cold rain.

Still sick. I had the weirdest dream last night where my nose was stuffed, but when I attempted to blow it I kept popping capillaries and dripping blood and cells all over the place. Very vivid. I woke up and checked myself. Nosebleed free. My throat's bugging the hell out of me. Nyquil is the drug of choice, sho' nuff.

Yay! Drugs!

Wine It Up!

We have this ridiculous clock in the bathroom that makes three bird cheeps at the top of every hour. It's startled many a visitor, believe you me. Well, recently, at random hours, it starts up with the bird noises but then transforms into something ungodly on the last two chirps. It's like it goes from the call of a chickadee to the roar of a gryphon...not that I've ever witnessed a gryphon or heard it emit noise, but still. Even though I know it's coming, sometimes, late at night, it frightens the shit out of me. Which, considering the placement of the clock, isn't necessarily a bad thing I suppose. I thought that was noteworthy.

I guess it's apparent that I'm still sick ("still" and "sick", of course, being relative terms in my case). No nosebleeds, but lots of running fluids. Icky to the extreme. It's cool, though. It's a dreary day outside. It's easier to take being ill and not having the energy to putt around when it looks gloomy as hell when you glance out the window.

Grandfather left today to head back to sunny Florida. Now only Mama's left behind. She's cool in that she doesn't hesitate to tell my dad what's what. Can't remember when she's supposed to head out.

Turns out I got a little break in my loan repayment schedule, for which I'm eternally grateful for. Now I have a little more leeway in finding some sort of steady non-RS employment without fear of losing my job and being broke and in default. The government is stupid. But its stupidity has helped me out this time around, so I'm not pissed.

Dammit, why are boxed sets so expensive? My brothers chipped in to get me a Gift Card to Roosevelt Field that I had planned to use to pick up a season or two of DS9. But then I find out that they cost $100 a pop. The HELL??? I'd pick it up used, but I have to find a store that sells used DVD box sets in the area, which is surprisingly difficult. Man, things were so much better in Providence. The Blockbuster had a much better selection, and the stores sold used DVD boxed sets. I need to move to Manhattan ASAP.
