We have this ridiculous clock in the bathroom that makes three bird cheeps at the top of every hour. It's startled many a visitor, believe you me. Well, recently, at random hours, it starts up with the bird noises but then transforms into something ungodly on the last two chirps. It's like it goes from the call of a chickadee to the roar of a gryphon...not that I've ever witnessed a gryphon or heard it emit noise, but still. Even though I know it's coming, sometimes, late at night, it frightens the shit out of me. Which, considering the placement of the clock, isn't necessarily a bad thing I suppose. I thought that was noteworthy.

I guess it's apparent that I'm still sick ("still" and "sick", of course, being relative terms in my case). No nosebleeds, but lots of running fluids. Icky to the extreme. It's cool, though. It's a dreary day outside. It's easier to take being ill and not having the energy to putt around when it looks gloomy as hell when you glance out the window.

Grandfather left today to head back to sunny Florida. Now only Mama's left behind. She's cool in that she doesn't hesitate to tell my dad what's what. Can't remember when she's supposed to head out.

Turns out I got a little break in my loan repayment schedule, for which I'm eternally grateful for. Now I have a little more leeway in finding some sort of steady non-RS employment without fear of losing my job and being broke and in default. The government is stupid. But its stupidity has helped me out this time around, so I'm not pissed.

Dammit, why are boxed sets so expensive? My brothers chipped in to get me a Gift Card to Roosevelt Field that I had planned to use to pick up a season or two of DS9. But then I find out that they cost $100 a pop. The HELL??? I'd pick it up used, but I have to find a store that sells used DVD box sets in the area, which is surprisingly difficult. Man, things were so much better in Providence. The Blockbuster had a much better selection, and the stores sold used DVD boxed sets. I need to move to Manhattan ASAP.
