It's all about the terminology

The Feds push the abstinence message to the older folk. Great. Now, instead of having to 'fess up to the driest dry spell this side of the Sahara, I can claim I'm being a good citizen...? How about we work on taking away some of the stigma surrounding sex and educating the public about what diseases are out there?

No? Too hard? Bastids.

*sigh*

How much longer til Dubya and his cartel get tossed out on their collective asses?

The scary part - will we get the conservative Christian point of view out once Dubya's out of office, or will "we" (*ahem*) elect someone in the same vein? One of the most encouraging things I saw at the last election was a pair of youth "thugged out" kids walking into their respective polling booths. Hopefully things will change but it'll take people raising their voices.

What concerns me is the many similarities that the US is beginning to show to the late Roman Empire. Someplace I read a comparison of this current Congress with the Senate of Nero and Caligula, and while we don't have a horse in the US Senate, there certainly is enough corruption and influence peddling on Capital Hill to make anyone sick.

Are we due to have a big decline a la Rome? Hopefully enough people get upset with the way things are going to make some kind of change before things get to that point.
