A semi-revealing look at myself through random statements of being

1. I'm extraordinarily fond of tapioca pudding. It's the combination of sweet, silk-smooth, and firm. I'm a texture person; it's all about the object in question slipping across my tongue. Extrapolate that as you will.

2. If I'm not fond of you, you'll know. Years of self-imposed isolation have left my socialization skills so left of center that my bin of "be polite just because" is pretty empty. If I'm having a good day and you're not my favorite person to be around I can usually muster a half-smile and a salutation. If I'm having a normal day I'll try my best to flow around you. "If you've nothing nice to say, say nothing at all" holds up, at least.

3. Being smart and being intelligent are two completely different things. I've been blessed enough to have had the opportunity to be exposed to many founts of knowledge, but I'm a remarkably stupid person on the occasion. And I revel in it, you know? Sometimes it's the only way to make it through the day.

4. A text message at the beginning of a long shift stating "Let's go to Amsterdam" can really make one's night.

5. My interest in psychology is self-serving to the extreme. It leaves me lost as to whether or not I should actually go after the PhD.

6. Some days the main reason I wish I'd stayed in my dorm room angsting to NIN instead of heading out to the computer lab and subsequently getting run over by that dude on the motorcycle is so I can sport high-heeled knee-length boots again.

7. Deep Space Nine is the superior Trek, and all you fools betta recognize. Fo' real.

Come on, if you've read through this you're more or less obligated to make your own "random statements of being" post. It's fun.

I love rice pudding so much that I nearly worship it. Seriously, if I ever go to New York again, I need to go to that Rice Pudding restaurant.

Also, high heeled boots are sexy, but high flat boots can be sexy too. It's all about the attitude!

re: Boots - it's not so much the sexiness as it is the balance issue. I can't even manage high flat boots. I can trip while wearing *sneakers*, and it's usually only the serrated rubber soles that save me. As it is, when I'm tired I can stumble in anything. I had a pair of calf-high heeled boots I used to wear everywhere, and after a couple of spills on moderately sloped surfaces I had to stick them in the back of the closet. I think I just like the "clunk-clunk" of the heavy soles. :)

My mom makes killer rice pudding. Usually only around Christmas, though. There's a Rice Pudding restaurant here? Where?

I only know Manhattan, and by 'know' I mean, I might be able to point out very, very roughly on a map where an address might be located. (So by 'know', I'm GREATLY exaggerating) So, if this is in Manhattan, my guess would be upper west side? Close to Columbia...ish? $5 says I'm actually way off?

*grin* Way downtown of Columbia. Around Chinatown, but thanks for the link. I can see I'm going to have to check it out.
