fredericks: (An evil plot to teach me a lesson?)

A bit of the funny stuff.

I'd picked up the latest issue of The Onion and left it hanging around the house yesterday evening after showing this article to my mother (just in case you don't know what Sir Charles got himself into this time, check here. Apparently he told the arresting officers he was rushing back home to get some brain...which, you know, classy!). Mom tells me dad came to her this morning and asked her if she'd heard that Tina Turner had been arrested for attempting to burn down her house for the insurance money on her legs. The man had been completely taken by the article. I cracked up. Loving it.

Weekends are evil. They're like the mote of hope in the bottom of the box of horrors. Which doesn't stop me from thoroughly enjoying them. And taking the time to build plans. Last year's goal was to see more of the city's sights, and I think I somewhat succeeded. This year's goal? building on last year's. To see more of the city's sights while socializing. I think I'll start by looking for a book club or something suitably nerdy. Time to hit up Craigslist and Meetup.

I've tried to do online ones, but I find more motivation to read the books selected when we meet face to face. I've been told it's hard to find book clubs in the city that read a variety of genres, so I figure if worse comes to worse I'll end up visiting the Barnes & Noble boards again. They have a number of book communities that run every couple of months. I think you'd like them.

*grin* You're good peoples and good company. Any time you want to pain the town red I'm more than game.
