The movie does not look very encouraging. I can't see how they'd intend to make any more movies if they start with Percy being 16-17 instead of 12. Honestly, I know the books were Harry Potter Lite, but it seems like in their move to try to make the movies different from the Potter films they've decided to leave the tropes and themes that make the two series similar and do a cosmetic lift of everything that made Percy enjoyable.

And I've been privy to your Rainbow Brite rage, trust me. I think we started up on that together at one point. :)
