I am the snowman.

It's all "Snowpocalypse Now" outside. The main road has been plowed, but my street is 14" of fluffy stuff. Don't want to go to work, but since I managed to make it out during the big post-Christmas storm if I can't drag my ass out to the office today eyebrows will be raised. So now I have to hitch a ride to the train in my dad's 4x4 (since buses are not running in NYC at this time) and hope that not too many nurses end up calling out. Joy.

Hot chocolate + a book sounds like good business right about now.

Eta - FUCK. Today is infinity times worst than last storm. In that it looks more manageable, but in pulling out the 4x4 slid and mashed into the rear of a car parked on front of our neighbors house, moms car got stuck, and we've spent the last 40 minutes trying to move her back into the driveway or into the street. So much suck right now.

Oh geez. I heard the storm was bad! And I think you've got an excuse now.

oh damn! that is not cool. yeah, this stuff is aweful. Sticky, wet snow with a nice layer of ice underneath. I hope the damage isn't too bad. I have not left my little compound yet. The dog is begging for a walk but I don't want to leave my cave! I did clear the steps. Wouldn't you know, I ran out of salt yesterday. Be safe!

Weird. It's clear and sunny here in the upstate. It missed us entirely.

Be careful! And try to find some time for hot chocolate and a book.

I was almost the last person to get into my office today. I was surprised. Obviously it was best I made it out. But it was nuts on the roads.

I think the driver was moderately douchey over the phone w/ my father. Which - what? We totally could have hit and run on the woman. But I guess I'll see how things work out.

No salt??? Oh no. :-/

Not last year. They kept skirting us all year. I missed snow so much.

Apparently it's making up for it this year.

ack, that sucks about the car but sometimes, no matter how careful you are, things like that will happen. We slid out in front of a tractor trailer the other day...luckily, i ad the sense not to hit the brake or try and drive down the road but hit the gas the went straight into thr field across the road...it's crazy out there and employers just cant understand why people dont want to drive in it

glad everyone is ok!

Tractor?? HOMG. I'm glad you guys are okay.
