Last night

I had a photo op with Professor Snape last night. Alan Rickman's on Broadway in Seminar, a play I'd describe as a comedy. [livejournal.com profile] sternel, my unofficial fangirl theater buddy, and [livejournal.com profile] desolate03 were also in attendance. Before the show [livejournal.com profile] sternel and I hit up the newly set up holiday stands in Bryant Park and she introduced me to the yummy world of Wafels and Dinges (bacon waffles FTW!). While we waited on line to be let into the theater it was pointed out to me that Paul Gross is soon to take up residence across the street in the Broadway production of Private Lives. Total squee moment (and previews start next week!)

The show itself was funny in parts, short (at 90 minutes), but didn't feel too brief. Nor did it wear out its welcome. Afterward I was introduced to the world of waiting for actors by the stage door. Fun times. Jerry O'Connell did lot of camping while he signed playbills (he wore a monkey suit with a full head), but Rickman was all business, fake smile and all. It was still neat to see him up close and speak to him (even if it was just to ask him if I could take a photo and for him to reply, "sure").

Cannot wait for Paul Gross to make his appearance. Yayz!

P.S. - LJ exodus? Again? Come on, guys! I'm too lazy to maintain more than one journal. Or to migrate. I still use the same e-mail address I had in the 9th grade, fer chrissake! *sigh*

P.P.S. - SNOW! I love it, even if it's just making lots of nasty slush on the ground. And even though my throat is currently scratching the hell out of me because I've been out in the cold a lot during the last few days.

awesome!

and yeah about the LJ exodus...i keep trying to keep a DW account but i always forget about it

Psst, Thomas, here you go. (http://fredericks.livejournal.com/466774.html)

[identity profile] fredericks.livejournal.com 2011-10-30 01:51 am (UTC)(link)
There's some bug that is/was causing people to have accessed to other user's journals, including Flocked posts/info (nicely summarized here (http://eruthros.dreamwidth.org/329681.html)). This is after the most recent upgrade/modification announce, that also also screwing up cross-posting with outside journals. More than a few folks on my FL are just like "screw it, I'm going to DW full time now, no more cross-posting". And I'm all *sadface*.

[identity profile] fredericks.livejournal.com 2011-10-30 01:52 am (UTC)(link)
I have a DW account (if I can send you an invite I will do so), but I barely maintain this journal as is. My FL has gotten awfully quiet recently, and I think it's because of earlier migrations and the rise of Twitter/FB. Which, I don't do *anything* over there. *pokes the media world*

[identity profile] sternel.livejournal.com 2011-10-30 02:53 am (UTC)(link)
you should get a twitter.

[identity profile] fredericks.livejournal.com 2011-10-30 02:56 am (UTC)(link)
I can see myself as one of those people who tweet inanities and get myself in trouble.

[identity profile] utopiantrunks.livejournal.com 2011-10-30 08:40 am (UTC)(link)
Wait, what? Are we exodusing again, for chrissakes? What happened, now?

[identity profile] utopiantrunks.livejournal.com 2011-10-30 08:46 am (UTC)(link)
Hang on, scrolled up and read comments like I should've done to begin with. Hooboy. -_-; I have a Dreamwidth, too, and all of two people friended on it, one of whom I read over here, anyhow. And I have enough trouble keeping up with one journal site. >_>; When people exodus, I always end up losing track of them.

Oh god, I'm jealous. And Paul's on Broadway? I may need to take a trip to NY.

[identity profile] fredericks.livejournal.com 2011-10-30 03:24 pm (UTC)(link)
Only until February. So, dude!! If you do make concrete plans let me know what day you'd like to go.

[identity profile] fredericks.livejournal.com 2011-10-30 03:26 pm (UTC)(link)
I know. It's horrible. I don't touch my DW, don't know how to find folks/comms/memes over there. And FB is too entangled w/ offline life for me to be entirely comfortable with using. That and I'm lazy. So sadface right now.

[identity profile] atraxia.livejournal.com 2011-10-30 04:56 pm (UTC)(link)
i have the most boring twitter ever - but i find myself using it more often. you should join - it's fun reading tweets of different celebrities.

ps - so jealous you got a photo w/ snape even if it's the fake smile. i love him!

Is it showing my age that I was like, Alan Rickman, omg, I loved him in Die Hard!!! Lol. Sounds like you had an awesome time. :)

[identity profile] fredericks.livejournal.com 2011-11-01 02:00 am (UTC)(link)
What's your twitter handle? Your name? I'm sort of wary of actually using my name for fear of actually putting myself on blast. I'm thinking about it, though.

Rickman = cool. However, not as cool as meeting Michael Shanks. He was really the nicest guy ever.

[identity profile] fredericks.livejournal.com 2011-11-01 02:01 am (UTC)(link)
*grin* Not at all! When I try to tell folks about Rickman I'm all, "you know, the guy with the horrible German accent from Die Hard?" And they still look at me weird.

I wish I lived closer to Broadway. Boston has good theater (especially compared to where I grew up), but it's still small and oldmeme compared to Broadway.

Paul Gross is awesome. Some friends recently talked me into watching Slings & Arrows, which you should see if you haven't.

[identity profile] fredericks.livejournal.com 2011-11-04 01:57 am (UTC)(link)
I liked Slings and Arrows a lot. So agreeing on the Paul Gross = awesome sentiment.
