Lederhosen, anyone?
What is it about uncles that make them totally awesome? He calls and we just carry on the greatest conversations. It's like he really *cares* about how I'm doing and what I'm going through. I noticed he's always had that in him, but it's become even more pronounced since he's had kids. Moreso than with my aunt, from whom I always get the feeling that she's belittling me behind my back, tittering about me with her husband, and sharing what I tell her with her sisters even after I ask her not to (usually if someone shares gossip with you, you know they're going to babble whatever you give them). He's so rad.

devoosha, this might interest you: I'm looking into taking Intensive Elementary German next semester. I keep envisioning me eating brat and drinking beer. Oktoberfest. Should be fun. You gonna join? or you going to go all Cinco de Mayo on me?

Hope everyone's doing well. All y'all on my FL are going through such rough times. Big ole FL hug. ::hug::

[The HELL did I just say, btw? If I somehow insulted your family name just then, my bad]
I'm trying to re-arrange my schedule so I can fit it, but my fellow classmates aren't helping me out. Beeches! Anywho, I'm going to make it happen. I can taste the kraut and brat as I type...

German had a huge influence on American language...in fact, English was descended from a Germanic language family. And obviously English has borrowed from a lot of other language groups...but it's solid base is Germanic.
Good luck on getting in the class!

Ihr Wahl ist gut. Deutscher ist eine reiche Sprache mit vielen Konsonanten und Silben.

Dude, I said I was *taking* it, not that I knew it already. Geez. All the German (and Russian, and Creole) I know I learned from "X-Men".
Can't believe I had to use Babble Fish and translate...[grumble grumble].
