I'm baaaaaaaaack.

The lack of LJ was frightening. I depend on this thing way too much. I was a day away from entering withdrawal shakes. Damn you, Frank.

Tomorrow's the first day of "real" tax work. I'm slightly nervous, but think I'll do okay. I'm going to try to get to the store early so I can play on the PC for a bit. Er, wait. I think they don't open at 7:30 until the first peak (last week of January - the 2nd week of February). Oh well. Guess I'll just get there early and read over Pub 17 some at the nearby diner.

Going to meet up with a HS friend of mine tomorrow afternoon ::fingers cross:. Not so much nervous. A little excited, though. Should be fun.

I really need more LJ friends. 3/4 of my list is MIA. Le sigh. I pick ones that are too similar to myself. They're prone to moving on.

Why does Sunday evening TV suck so badly? Honestly now.

Tell me about it. I get off work at 8am, go to the theatre to paint sets all day, come home. Too tired to cook, all I wanna do is veg out in front of the TV and then sleep in a couple of hous, and there ain't shit on. :;sighs:: It's like.. now what do I do with myself.

*grin* You know, I've never thought you'd be at a loss as to what to do with yourself. /naughtiness

250 channels of cable and I'm stuck watching a repeat of Family Guy. Funny, yes, but...

Never heard of it, who's in it?

Eh, no naughtiness for me this week. ::grumble::

[identity profile] fredericks.livejournal.com 2005-01-17 03:48 am (UTC)(link)
K-WHAT? You've never heard of the cartoon Family Guy? Seriously?

Okay, taking what you told me at face value, it's a cartoon in the same tone as The Simpsons. Although more like the gag-a-minute style of the really bad Simpson years (seasons 11-14, mostly). Family Guy manages to make the mad gag style work, though (IMO).

You can usually look for it on Cartoon Network later at night. And back on Fox.

Yes. I watch entirely too much TV.

[identity profile] enigmaticjess.livejournal.com 2005-01-17 04:38 am (UTC)(link)
Aha. I don't much do cartoons. I think I've seen one, maybe two entire episodes of the Simpsons.

Man, that Publication 17's a real page turner. ;)

They'd make my life a whole hell of a lot easier if they had that crap on tape. It would cure any insomnia I could even think about having.

Apparently, there's a few gems to be mined; like the part that instructs you to report any bribes you receive on your income tax. Nothing like a guilty conscience, huh?

[identity profile] fredericks.livejournal.com 2005-01-17 03:22 am (UTC)(link)
And the whole "illegal income" in general. Really, now. Because if you report it, they're not going to send notice over to the FBI that you're engaging in it, right? Mein Gott.

[identity profile] citizenjess.livejournal.com 2005-01-17 03:24 am (UTC)(link)
Yeah, it's pretty much defeating the purpose of being part of a mafia or ... whatever if you're putting it on government-sanctioned paperwork. And the IRS isn't exactly going to send you a certificate of appreciation in return.

Supposedly that little ditty was cooked up to help bring in mobsters. When you can't make murder or extortion raps stick, you can at least call them on the tax evasion.

Yes, I have no life and watch lots of A&E. So sue me.

[identity profile] citizenjess.livejournal.com 2005-01-17 03:49 am (UTC)(link)
What I want to know is how many of those said mobsters have been bad-ass enough to actually put it on there. They should get a special place in whoever eventually compiles the first living-edition of "The Darwin Awards".
