Movies coming up.
I keep meaning to do something fancy to my journal. I kept it in Component style because I meant to make it all fancy and -edited-, but I never got around to doing anything. Maybe before school kicks in I can, you know, do some drastic surgery on my little slice of angst.
Constantine looks interesting to me. It's my brother that brought the movie to my attention. I'm thinking the distributing house thinks they may have a stinker on hand, because advertising has just now started picking up. I like me some Keanu; the man's been genetically blessed. Once he opens his mouth, though, it's all over. The faint surfer/slacker "accent" he's stubbornly held on makes it impossible for me to see him in any character. It's always "Keanu", just like when I see a movie with Will Smith in it it's always..."Will Smith" (although I heard that he did wonders getting into character in Ali). I would read Hellblazer, but I have this quirk about not being able to get into something unless I read it from the beginning, and the library doesn't carry any of the line. They *do* have Moore's Swamp Thing gn, though; and I managed to catch a Constantine cameo in one of the Sandman series. Didn't know who the hell he was back then.
Eh. I'm gonna watch the movie. That and Will Smith's Hitch. Because I'm a sucker. And like the eye candy and such.

Long day. My aunt needs help. Serious help. My father needs to go to work. And may require help. Serious help. STS called and told me that, due to "power problems" I don't have to come in to work on Friday. So...-edited-, man! The -editied- am I going to make money?? I.......AAAAAAAARGH!
A more comprehensive entry tomorrow, I guess. Or later tonight, depending on how I feel.

Even with the little I know about the character that seems...not a wise choice. I think casting was trying to build on Keanu's Matrix following. Even the ads featured very Matrix-like fighting. I still want to see it, though. Looks possibly creepy. Or just good for some laughs.

No, it was a good movie, but I love Muhammad Ali so much that no one could do justice to him.
I like Will Smith though. I sat through I, Robot which was terrible, simply because of him, and some sick sadistic bastard told me there was Will Smith nudity involved. WhatEV.
And Keanu will always be Ted. He could be playing the president of the United States and he would still be, "Ted pretending to be president of the United States". But I am SO excited to see Constantine. It looks seriously freakin' scary.

I actually didn't mind I, Robot. I think we checked it out in the theatre, and the real draw for me had been Alan Tudyk (who, it turned out, was CGI'd out). When Will came up nekkid in the shower I rolled my eyes. This is the Fresh Prince here, man! He's never going to be a sex symbol for me. Just the cute "guy next door". That scene was all sorts of unnecessary.
And ditto on the Constantine. If not scary, then a good time.
