I'm back and I'm broke

Not really, of course, but still.

AC was fun. I didn't win a damn thing, but we did go to a Price is Right stage show and we saw some guy win a Mini-Cooper (the one they had on display was beautiful) and a large flat-screen. How it worked out was that when you registered for the game you had 20 seconds to bid on items from earlier decades. In our case we had to bid on a car from 1983 and a fireplace from 1993. During those years I spent my time mastering potty-training and watching lots of Gem, so it's no wonder I was completely off. If we had known they were using the accuracy of the guesses to determine who got to the stage we would have tried to work out a damned strategy or something (something my brother hatched for next time - have one person register relatively early, find out what items are being bidded on, go online, find the price of the items, then give those prices to the members of the group that still have to register; dude's nifty AND shifty). After that I watched my brother learn the ropes at a blackjack table (the regulars are real bitchy when it comes to n00bs) and then we headed back to the hotel to play some pool before bedtime. Next day was more of the same, except I had no money to throw around and my mom, grandma, another aunt, and my two youngest brothers came up. I ended up tooling around with my brothers, going to the arcade to play some Dance Dance and then grabbing ice cream before we separated and all headed back home.

When we got back we went to see Underworld 2. It wasn't *bad*; it was just Underworld 2. Scott Speedman was cute in a Scott Stapp sort of way, everyone inexplicably dressed in tight leather, and the guys never bothered with shirts (they also had hairless chests; vampires love the wax treatment). There was also a Matrix 2-style "sexin' interlude" in the middle of things, which...whu? I giggled throughout the whole softly-lit orgasmically stringed scene. Also? wtf happened at the end? What were the ramifications? I mean, besides the inevitable third movie. I did get a smile at the end, when "Music by Marco Beltrami" scrolled by and I instantly thought of [livejournal.com profile] melancthe. I would have no idea who that dude was if she wasn't constantly fantasizing harping about him. *grin*

The only thing that bummed me out about the trip was that I missed the new Battlestar Galactica. I've been good at avoiding spoilers but I've heard it's an awesome episode. Tomorrow at 11PM it is so on.

I'm a little "meh" about school starting on Tuesday (I like how we have a Pharmacology quiz as soon as we walk through the door...heh). I don't feel like leaving the house at all today. I think I might skip out on church. Hopefully I'll finish up what I want to do. Two more interview blurbs to type up.

Sounds like a fun time was had by all!

Surprisingly, I've never been to AC. Well, I guess it really isn't, because by the time I turned 21, I was getting ready to move to Texas the following September, and I've only been back for 4 months, so...yeah. :P I'm trying my very hardest to go this summer, though, because a family friend of ours gets free hotel rooms from time to time. And I really want to see AC. That Price of Right thing sounds so much fun! I'm definitely going to have to keep an eye out for it. And I love your brother's way of thinking. Hee!

Glad everyone had such a wonderful time!

If you go to TPIR, remember his strategy! We're already planning to return and utilize it. It pissed me off because 6 of the people that got to "come on down" were from the same.group. Apparently they'd shared the answer with one another during registration. They weren't breaking any rules, but still! I wanted that Mini-Cooper! *sob*

You haven't been to AC? Dude. Yet another thing we should do together. It's nice to go in the summer, since the stuff on the boardwalk is open and there's generally a couple of good dance parties up and running at various locations on the beach.

D00D, we definitely need to plan that! I'm thinking the summer will be the best time, since you'll be out of school (at least, I think you will). But just a pick a date and let me know, and then we can start planning. (:

And look! Potterpuff icon lurve!

Didn't you know? Leather is the new cotton.

So sayeth Brian Kinney.

It was so funny. The dudes could NOT keep a shirt on the save their lives. Such a ridiculously cheesy movie. Yet I enjoyed myself. Go fig.

Sometimes people need a little cheese-fest to feel good.

Isn't it the most awesome thing ever?
I exaggerate only slightly. I hope to one day be able to play it in the arcade without feeling embarrassed beyond belief. Those damn kids make me look like a fool.
