Randomness Update

I stuck some Vegas pictures in my gallery. That's all the ones that were halfway decent.

Picked up tickets for Superman Returns this afternoon. Eight of us are going to check it out in IMAX next week Wednesday (ridin' the second wave, baby!). The last movie I was this psyched about was Narnia and that was a disappointment and a half. No mas, please.

I hate WIPs, although updates of good ones (shout out to "Shadow of His Wings") get me all warm and tingly. Evil evil writers and their suspense...

Your unidentified wooden castleish thingey looks quite a bit like a Germanic castle. The structure isn't quite right for Neuschwanstein, but it might be one of Ludwig II's other castles...will look into it wen i'm more awake...

...that looks like one of those 3D jigsaw things I used to enjoy putting together. Total photo manip!
(Yes, I know, I know. Beautiful architecture, btw).

Awesome pics. ^_^

And weren't we all disappointed by Narnia?

Surprisingly, no. What's wrong with everyone else?
I was underwhelmed by the acting on the part of the kids and, color me jaded, but I really wanted better fight choreography. During Peter and the White Queen's turn I kept saying to myself "oh, she could have *gutted him like a fish ten times already! stop posing, dammit!". My expectations are way high.

And thanks for the pic love. :)

Haha, I have no idea. Maybe they have lower expectations than we did? I was almost sick when I heard they were making another one...I think it's supposed to be out next year. I think I'll conviently forget when, so I can miss seeing it.

I didn't really get the "Little kid beats the Snow Queen" thing either. Gah. But that might also be because we're used to villains (or villain-like characters) like Tarrant? He would've kicked that kid into the middle of next year. XD

Finally got a chance to look at the Vegas pics. Very nice! :D

Great Vegas pictures! Did you ever get to see Cirque du Soeil? If I ever had a chance to go to Vegas that'd be one of the highlights of my visit because I'm into that sort of artsy fartsy kind of thing, but your description of some Australian guy shaking his arse in front of your face just might change my mind...

Oh, and the mockups of New York, Paris, and Venice were screwed up. I guess if there's one thing Vegas tourism does well it's convince stupid American suburbanites that they're having the real experience.

There were three Cirque shows playing when I was there: O, the water-based one I went to see (totally awesome, btw - I posted some pictures with a couple of cast members and a free huge prop I got to take home with me), Mysterie, and Zumanity (a "sensual" experience...I'm thinking they were doing some karma sutra-like things in it). The Beatles homage Love was the new Cirque show that started a couple of weeks after we left. I liked Vegas because of all the shows they had - if I return I'm going to try to check out all the Cirque shows, hit up some comedy shows (Penn and Teller! I forgot to give them a go), and get in on some of the discount Broadway shows they have available.

Re: Australian ass - that was from the "male revue" show my cousin and I went to. The women go absolutely mad in those things. Quite frightening.

I think you'd like Vegas. Lots of things to see and do in a small area, much smaller than NYC. Nice for a couple of days of lounging.
