The song says it all.
[Poll #927246]

My abysmal VD record continues, as we glanced out the window this morning and collectively decided to cancel the trip to The Comic Strip this evening. My new plans? Cook dinner for the clan and marathon S1 of Stargate Atlantis.

What are y'all up to tonight?

By Anthony Hamilton? Go on, wit your bad self!

I will be sitting in class tonight:(
The Principals of Educational Research...just horribly horribly exciting.

I always hated class on one of these semi-holidays that everyone knows should be spent either in someone else's intimate company or cuddled under the covers taking in some TV.

"Love Will Tear Us Apart" by Joy Division is a great song, but I guess I'm not in that mood...anymore to list it. I have to go to a work meeting tonight. That sucks, but going out in this weather and 2 feet of snow sucks more. Eh, we'll do something this weekend. And! I made him a Jayne hat. Whee! I'm getting a slanket soon from him!

[identity profile] fredericks.livejournal.com 2007-02-15 11:25 am (UTC)(link)
Y'all got two feet of snow? Crazy! We got 3-4 inches, but it was capped off with rain so there's ice everywhere.

You made the Jayne hat?? Cool! You rock. But...a slanket? A slutty blanket? What's that?

[identity profile] xioley.livejournal.com 2007-02-15 02:58 pm (UTC)(link)
Okay, I don't know how much snow we officially got--I just know that it comes up to my knees or slightly higher on the sides of the streets and sidewalks. So I'm calling it as two feet.

Slutty blanket! you make me laugh! Seriously. I think of a blanket with holes. Okay, the slanket is like that, but the holes are for the arms. Sleeves+blanket = slanket! http://www.theslanket.com/

Pictures of Jayne hat and other corny goodness coming soon on my journal!

btw: it still makes me giggle when I see people abbreviate "Valentine's Day" as "VD."

I know I always have trouble with VD, too, ever since that trip to Singapore.

considering i spent 4 years in s'pore - i'm just a mess......

Note to self: bring hand sanitizer + alcohol wipes when chilling with [livejournal.com profile] atraxia.

[identity profile] fredericks.livejournal.com 2007-02-15 11:26 am (UTC)(link)
*grin* That's the point.

Don't blame the port, blame the lack of a cap, dude. I never had a problem at 'pore.

Lessee...after trudging home from work in the slush I will probably curl up with a mug of tea, make some kind of dinner, and catch up on sketches that are due next week. Not too exciting, but I'm kinda looking forward to it. The weather is too crap to go out anyway.

I hear SG:Atlantis is pretty good.

[identity profile] fredericks.livejournal.com 2007-02-15 11:31 am (UTC)(link)
I picked up the DVDs a little while ago. I watched the pilot and was surprised by how good it was. It sucked me right in. I haven't been able to sit down and watch a lot more though - I'm only three episodes in at the moment. I do like the little sci-fi digs it makes in-between bouts of techno-babble.

And the weather is, indeed, "crap". We didn't end up with a whole lot of snow 'round these parts, but we got rain at the end so there's ice *everywhere*. Not fun.

. . . is blind.

. . . is an illogical, hellish force.

. . . is often confused with lust.

[identity profile] fredericks.livejournal.com 2007-02-15 11:31 am (UTC)(link)
Wait, someone actually sang "love is an illogical, hellish force"? Fo' serious? Title and artist, please! :)

[identity profile] alicetheowl.livejournal.com 2007-02-15 03:55 pm (UTC)(link)
Heh. I only wish. Unless you count "wailing in lamentation" or "declaring loudly and stridently" as "singing", in which case, it was me.

...is a battlefield! :P

"Heartache to heartache, we stand!" The day I can read "Love is a Battlefield" and not see Pat Benetar doing that stupid dance in those idiotic clothes is the day I deserve to give up the ghost.

"Love is not just for lovers."

*Valentine's hugs*

I'm mostly gonna chill out, watch tv, and wash clothes. Enjoy your festivities!!!!

[identity profile] laughingirl.livejournal.com 2007-02-14 09:26 pm (UTC)(link)
Shockingly (not :P) I will be spending Valentine's at gay bars... first watching American Idol at one and then going to a fundraiser hosted by a drag queen at another.

*cue speech by mom about why I don't have a boyfriend* ;)

Love hurts.....
But sometimes it's a good hurt
And it feels like I'm alive

Incubus :)

[identity profile] fredericks.livejournal.com 2007-02-15 11:34 am (UTC)(link)
*grin* I was waiting for someone to give me that line. That's actually what I was thinking of when I picked that one. Love Incubus, fo' serious.

Love....

[identity profile] rwarner.livejournal.com 2007-02-15 04:54 am (UTC)(link)
...is the most elusive emotion.

Cooking for the fam and watching Atlantis is a great way to spend VD....well, at least it's cheaper. :)
