1. [livejournal.com profile] drjayphd reminds us all why every goddamn morning should start with a poll. Read, wonder why the hell you didn't ask the question yourself, and click twice, peeps. Fo' serious.*

2. C-diff? Really effin' stinks. May you never nevernevernevernever find yourself in the situation where you have to change a patient with it. I think I've found my "one thing", because ohmygawd. Huge-ass pressure ulcers? No problem. Tons of blood spewing everywhere? Bring it on. C-diff? ::runs the hell away::

3. I want to see "Avenue Q" again. I've been listening to the soundtrack on repeat. [livejournal.com profile] 1x2foralways, have you seen it? If not, dude! Let's go!

4. Dell's leading the poll, but those that hate it really really really hate it. I'm wondering if that's a sign.

*Trust me, it was some profound shit. Of course, I didn't realize it was friends-locked. Dang it. Dude, you need to totally unlock that jammy. Don't stint.

2. I'm very glad that Mythbusters showed that I'm unlikely to pick that up in my own home.

4. Dell laptops are nearly ubiquitous in my office, though I have a proper workstation. Everyone hates their Dell laptop. If you don't mind the OS switch and have the money to pay the price premium, Apple still makes the best laptop hardware, even with the occasional exploding battery.

Mythbusters covered c-diff? I need to catch that show on more often. :)

I know Apples are nifty, but the whole game thing is an issue. And the price. Although my brother paid around 1200 for his laptop and it's a thing of beauty. I think I have something against following in his footsteps.

OMG YES

I've seen it, but I'd soooo go again!!!! I loved it!

Actually, that reminds me...

I got a discount offer from Playbill for Avenue Q! Orchestra seats for $76.25 (reg. $111.25) for performances on Saturday afternoon; $68.25 for performances on Sunday afternoon.

Okay, we're so there. Let's move this to e-mail. :)

Sounds good! (:

What is a C-Diff?

[identity profile] alicetheowl.livejournal.com 2007-04-12 05:54 pm (UTC)(link)
I was going to ask that if no one else had.

C-diff in a nutshell (http://www.cdiffsupport.com/aboutcdiff.html).

[identity profile] alicetheowl.livejournal.com 2007-04-12 10:56 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh.

Yeah, I can see why. I'd say feces would probably be a deal-breaker for me, too.

[identity profile] drjayphd.livejournal.com 2007-04-12 03:20 pm (UTC)(link)
So it is written, and so it shall be made public. :D

[identity profile] fredericks.livejournal.com 2007-04-12 10:54 pm (UTC)(link)
You rawk, man. That's just the type of thing I need to see after a hard day of cleaning up stinky poo.

Looking at The Consumerist, Dell's good only if you don't need their customer service. If you think you'll need to call in at any point, plan on it taking a while, and be prepared to call several times.

They were the ones with the biggest problems with the laptop fires, but those were because of faulty batteries more than the laptops themselves. The construction of the laptops didn't help all that much, but, provided you don't use an off-brand battery and pay attention to battery recalls, it shouldn't be an issue.

I'm thinking I'll be staying away from Dell. The VAIOs or a ThinkPad seems reasonable. VAIOs are just lovely looking.

[identity profile] alicetheowl.livejournal.com 2007-04-12 10:57 pm (UTC)(link)
Sony has a REALLY bad rap, customer service-wise. Just so you know.

They're also the ones who produced the bad batteries that made laptops catch on fire.

[identity profile] fredericks.livejournal.com 2007-04-12 10:59 pm (UTC)(link)
Dang. Every option is getting shot down. Maybe I should just buy a souped up graphing calculator and call it a day.

You could check newegg.com and see what they recommend. Apparently they're the leaders in providing computers and related hardware these days.

Hey, just a random question, but do you have a Facebook profile? I'd like to add you if you do. :)

[identity profile] fredericks.livejournal.com 2007-04-17 02:39 pm (UTC)(link)
I don't. Is that the thing that's sort of like Friendster, but for people in school?

[identity profile] twoworldsin1.livejournal.com 2007-04-17 05:41 pm (UTC)(link)
Yeah, something like that. It's a lot like Myspace. Social networking.
