(no subject)

Xanadu on Broadway = possibly the best thing put on God's green earth since pepper jack cheese. I don't say this lightly. Also, please note: performances on Tuesday evening start at 7PM, not 8PM. I learned this when I was standing outside the ticket counter yesterday night at 7:30PM. I missed the first thirty minutes and pissed off a couple of people as I crawled over them to my seat in the dark with the show in progress, but the hour I caught? Hilarious. The orchestra and mezzanine seats are an arm and a leg (worth it, though), but they also offer on-stage seats for half the price. On-stage seating lends itself for occasional interaction with the performers, too. There's no cast performance available on CD/iTunes for purchase, so I had to make due with a couple of tracks from the Olivia Newton-John heyday.

I'm in for work tonight but haven't been sleeping worth a damn lately. Right now I'm all edgy and can't manage to take a nap. It's taking forever for vacation to get here.

I'm so jealous.

:) I'm not sure if that's sarcasm or what. It was good times, though.

Once again, I'm so glad you had a good time! You've been needing it. *hugs*

I hate how theatre tickets these days are so damn expensive! But yeah...so worth it. (:

In addition to Xanadu, we totally need to see Avenue Q together. It's been almost 2 years since I've seen that show, and I'm going through withdrawal-like symptoms that the OBC can only cure to a certain extent. So yes...possibly make it a spring outing? (: I know spring is a long ways away, but I like to plan early! ;)

Here's hoping you get some well-deserved sleep soon! *wills your vacation to get here already!*

Belated thanks for the hugs. :)

You know, for some reason I swore we saw Avenue Q together. Are you sure we haven't seen Avenue Q? and a Broadway outing sounds fine. By the spring something else funky might be available for us to watch.

oh man! why is there no soundtrack?

(trufax! this lady i know was in the film version of xanadu. it's in her book queen of the oddballs.)

i really want to do the onstage seats for spring awakening, but forest is afraid john gallagher is going to sit on his lap or something.

I asked my more B'way savvy friend about the lack of soundtrack, and she said they might have just been waiting to see how big the show would be. As it's gotten great reviews from the NYTimes and a couple of other bigwig outlets I figure they'll get around to doing something soon. I hope, anyway.

I didn't even know Spring Awakening offered stage seats. If they're on the cheap side maybe I can make a go at it.

I never caught it, although I recall it being shown a couple of times on the local Channel 11. I was only really introduced to it from the "I love the 80's" show on VH1. They skewered it something fierce.
