fredericks: (Good grief)

A footnote

I think, sometimes, that I want to have a social life but my schedule puts the kibosh on the whole deal. Or makes it easy for me to lay the lack of life on my odd hours. Case in point: I worked Sunday into Monday. Came home, dicked around for a bit, went to sleep at 11, woke up at 8, stayed up until 11, slept until 5AM. There went Monday. Today I forced myself to leave the house at 10, supposedly to get supplies and clothing for the trip. Got my stamps at the 33rd St P.O. (no Marvel ones, unfortunately), went to Best Buy and picked up Season 4 of The Wire and Superbad, perused the clothing store briefly, went home, cooked dinner, watched some eppys, slept from 4 until 10PM. See? Nothing. No. Life. It'd be sad if I wasn't so tired. No cards made, no packing started (!), room still only 7/8th finished.

And this is sad after I lamented my lack of life, but more of y'all should watch The Wire (with me). Omar and Prez and Homicide, oh my.
ETA - Every time I see Aidan walk on camera the stupid Donkey Kong-like theme of QAF plays in my head. HI-larious.

Yay! You got S4! ::dances:: (Hey, I used to have an Omar icon, where'd it go??? The ghost of Stringer will have to step in. :g:)

I finished it a little while ago. Poor Bodie. It's like they decided to clean house of the entire Barksdale storyline. And I was really feeling the relationship between him and McNulty.

That season was depressing along the same lines of BSG Season 3. Less overwhelming, though, with more consistent writing. The completist in me wants to see people get their comeuppance (and Omar really ride off into the sunset), but the realist in me knows things'll probably not be wrapped up all neat-like with a bow. Dammit. Damn realistic writing.

I never really *had* one, although I've been lucky to have one or two people stick around me. I'm like kryptonite when it comes to friendships. My own kryptonite, in fact. :/

Donkey Kong-theme? I don't remember that. :( I haven't watched the show in about, say, 3 years, so that probably explains why. :P

You're going on a cruise soon, right? Is that the trip you're referring to? If so, when are you going? Have fun!!!!

I'll have to see about checking out The Wire. I don't really watch much tv nowadays. Just House, Law and Order, Law and Order: SVU, and The Office. Maybe I can squeeze that show into my schedule. ;)

You've seen the UK version? The theme that's playing in the US-sanctioned copy I had (*had*; God, I should have learned my lesson about lending people my stuff) sounds like something out of DK.

And thanks for the well-wishes. Hopefully everything turns out well. :)
