A Laid-Back Wednesday Evening
I'm currently chilling in the computer lab, waiting for an episode of Oz to download so I can get my fix and make it through the day. No real point to this entry; just sort of bored and my back hurts. Got a substantial amount of work done on THE PAPER. I've found that the trick is to sit out on the porch with Dad's laptop with the headphones on and just type type type. However, Dad's laptop and the programs contained within are rather outdated. When I brought the disk to the lab in order to attempt to print it out (I do my best proofreading when reading from sheets of paper with a pencil in hand) I was unable to print the stuff out. NOT. GOOD. Hopefully when I get home I'll be able to open up the disk on my PC and see if I can print it out on my rustic printer (pleasepleaseplease). I intend to pound out at least 6 more pages tonight (pleasepleaseplease), depending on whether or not my headache goes away by then.
The folks left for Trinidad last night/early this morning, so Darwent's home by his lonesome. I'm sure he's having a ball; I know I would in his shoes. Thinking of going home over the weekend just because I'm guaranteed to have free run of the house, but as of yet am undecided. I did tell Dwayne I'd be home when they came back. Hope he doesn't hold me to my word.
The roommates have been surprisingly AWOL as of late. Not that I'm complaining at all, mind you...it's just disconcerting. I feel like playing music really really loud in the living room for no reason. I already started the day by singing Rocky Horror songs (with my voice I make a very good Janet, but I guess that's not really a compliment) without fear of people emerging and telling me to STFU.
The weather's been annoying lately. Muggy and cloudy, but no rain in sight. I've been praying for a downpour. I can think of nothing that I'd love more than to be outside working on my paper while it's raining like crazy outside, but every day's been a disappointment. Last night was quite beautiful, though, with the full moon and all.
Ah, hells. The connection's just gone to shit. No Oz for me tonight I guess. *sigh* And things were looking so hopeful.
