Went to the Met yesterday afternoon, after having not been in ages. I'd forgotten how *big* it is, and how you can lose yourself while meandering down various halls. Some of the exhibits are perpetually crowded, but you make a left, head down a few yards, and bam it's just you and figurine from Cyprus, or you and a dark cool room and a looming statue of the Buddha. It was great fun and I wish we'd had more time to walk around. The "Superheroes" exhibit, though? Not that interesting. Quirky, but not something I'd make my way through again.

I was always confused as to whether The Met was the museum or the opera house.

Huh. You know, I've always used it for both. I guess context has always worked as clarification for us.

I had fun! Oh those Greek urns! We'll have to go again!

Definitely. It's a whole day sort of museum. Like you said, when next we return we need to go with comfortable shoes and some water. Maybe a camel or two, a couple of asses to tote the rest of our supplies...
