(no subject)

I'm at work and I get an e-mail with the subject line "Outstanding Paperwork", and I'm thinking I'm getting kudos because my documentation rocks socks when it's actually because one of my patients is missing some paperwork.

I'm home and I'm no less tired. Jebus.

And, it should be noted, my paperwork totally DOES rock. The nurse who did that admission completely slacked with the paperwork and now I have to clean shit up. *sigh*

Gratitude at work? You gotta be kidding me.

I know. I just never learn.

That usage of 'outstanding' always confuses me. My degree has the possibility of you getting an 'O' mark for a class for "Outstanding coursework"
I actually did ask if it meant the coursework was done really well. The expression returned to me was a "um, no..." look.
It took me a moment to remember it had another completely different meaning.

Damn you, English language!

I guess "standing out" in positive and negative context? I was just so damn tired at that point I couldn't figure out what was being said.

Ha. But an outstanding = bad for classes? That's perversely hilarious. You mean all the time you've posted about stuff like that "O" means "F"? Dude.

Well, fortunately I've never received an Outstanding grade, where I have coursework that has yet to be completed. I'm just too damn good :) [head inflating... uh oh]

Hahaha! That's great. I thought the same thing you did: wow, you must have awesome paperwork skillz.

I feel a little better about not being the only one being initially thrown by the author's use of outstanding. Maybe. :)
