So tonight was the season premiere of Stargate: Atlantis. I missed both airings because I was sitting in the theatre taking in a pretty disappointing movie called Hellboy 2: Electric Boogaloo (or a reasonable facsimile thereof). I can't remember: was the first one any good? I think I was taken in by the David Hyde Pierce voice and sort of blanked the rest out of my mind. All the summer movies I've seen so far have not met my expectations*. If Batman doth suck, I think I might shed some tears.



*'cept Iron Man, of course.

I enjoyed the first Hellboy. I do want to see the second one, although when I first saw the preview I was mocking it until I saw Hellboy himself... at which point I felt the disappointment creeping in.

I haven't seen much in the way of summer movies yet this year. I saw Hulk, which I think I liked more than you did, but it certainly wasn't great. Have you seen Wall-E yet? I loved that one.

I'm looking forward to Batman, and dork that I am, I find myself getting excited about the X-Files movie (even though I'm pretty sure it will suck).

I'm waiting for Hellboy to come out on DVD then I'll Netflicks it.

The last two movies I was pumped about seeing -- Indiana Jones & The Happening both were kind of let downs. I think Batman will be good. I love X-files so I'm pretty excited for that one, even though I'm pretty sure it'll be a let down as well.

I didn't think Hulk was too awful, but it's not the sort of movie I'd feel moved to watch again, even if it was on basic cable. It definitely left all attempts at intellectualization at the door, almost as if it didn't even want to come close to the first Hulk's territory. Wall-E was okay, but I feel like the way the previews emphasized the love story and completely ignored the message aspect of the storyline was a bit of a lure/switch, among other things. It was beautiful, though. Pixar's always pleasing on the eyes.

I'm looking forward to Batman as well. Two and a half hours! It should be good. I had no idea a X-Files movie was coming out until a month ago. I'm hoping it does well. Wasn't there one before this one?

I'm hoping Batman's good also. Katie Holmes isn't in it, so that's one check in the "yes" column.

Oops. Ignore the first line of that previous post. I'm confused in the head.
Hellboy's definitely a "Netflix and/or wait for it to show up on television" sort of movie, imo.
