As I wait for the coda fics to emerge.

So tonight was the season premiere of Stargate: Atlantis. I missed both airings because I was sitting in the theatre taking in a pretty disappointing movie called Hellboy 2: Electric Boogaloo (or a reasonable facsimile thereof). I can't remember: was the first one any good? I think I was taken in by the David Hyde Pierce voice and sort of blanked the rest out of my mind. All the summer movies I've seen so far have not met my expectations*. If Batman doth suck, I think I might shed some tears.



*'cept Iron Man, of course.

I didn't think Hulk was too awful, but it's not the sort of movie I'd feel moved to watch again, even if it was on basic cable. It definitely left all attempts at intellectualization at the door, almost as if it didn't even want to come close to the first Hulk's territory. Wall-E was okay, but I feel like the way the previews emphasized the love story and completely ignored the message aspect of the storyline was a bit of a lure/switch, among other things. It was beautiful, though. Pixar's always pleasing on the eyes.

I'm looking forward to Batman as well. Two and a half hours! It should be good. I had no idea a X-Files movie was coming out until a month ago. I'm hoping it does well. Wasn't there one before this one?
