Getting out there

I just spent two hours on a line to flick a switch, pull a lever, and hopefully make a difference. Consensus is that turnout has never been so high at my polling site. It's frustrating on a couple of levels, yet absolutely wondrous on *every* level.

Hooray! More people voting is always a good thing. Unless you're stuck in the queue.

Voting over there sounds so much more futuristic. Switches, levers. It's like the Jetsons.

Futuristic? I've been voting with switches and levers for ages. How do you vote?

I make a mark on a piece of paper, then put it in a box next to an old woman who's drinking a very sweet cup of tea.

I know. And then we ride our conveyor belts into our apartment buildings. :)

Good for you! It took me about a half hour.

Lucky you. If I didn't have to work I'd have gone during midday.
