All at one convenient location.
I have to work this weekend, and I am dragging like my shocks are shot but good. I really like my job most of the time, but we have this Ike/Tina dynamic going on at the moment that's so not healthy. After finishing up my charting this evening I initiated my first "new job" search (y'all know what I'm talking about). Half-heartedly, yes, but it was the first one since beginning this gig. Five months in and I only just did a job search; new record for me. I need something sweet, but we're all out. Damn it. Not even any hot chocolate hanging around. We need a S'bucks in the 'hood, stat.
I visited one patient this evening, a gent with an injury on his arm deep enough to merit a skin graft. The graft is in the process of failing spectacularly, and the tissue that was placed in the wound has that sickly-sweet odor that only decaying flesh can produce...I swear the smell stayed in my olfactory buds for at least a good half-hour after leaving his house. Either that or zombies are risen in the city and I'm completely oblivious.
Heh - "Cenac Attack". Gets me every time.
I win at NaNo. Really, though. Thank God I didn't sign up for Yule because, yeah. I keep saying I'm going to knock out 15k words on my days off (Tuesday and Wednesday). We'll see what happens.
"Shadow's Return" is being toted around in my workbag. I am going to read it, heart's promise. I even placed a Post-It pad inside the cover so I can highlight my snark without ruining the Cap'n's book (God forbid I actually end up having to purchase one to pay her back). It's like setting myself up for punishment and I'm so fatigued at the moment I think there's only so much I can take. But I'm not going to start this month's book club book before wrapping up the Flewelling's bit of Nobel-worthy fanfic.
Gah. SF needs to come a whole lot faster, plz thnx.

Inspire me to write, please! I'm stalled at 288 words!

...
Convince yourself that you are working in clay not marble, on paper not
eternal bronze; let that first sentence be as stupid as it wishes. No
one will rush out and print it as it stands. Just put it down; then
another.

The Flewelling
If nothing else I'll be inspired to write something scathing. But I have to get through the horribleness first.

Icon Love!
They need to stop with all the L&O, yo. It's just sad.
But they can keep the sound effect, that "chu-chuk!" or whateverthehell. It amuses me.
