Here's my mini-squee about Mad Men

I do love to jump on bandwagons late. Force of habit due to petty childhood habits, what can I say? I finished up S1 of Mad Men last night and started on S2 this morning. I am really liking this show. I think the writing is phenomenal. Then again, I'm a fan of any American show that doesn't try to dumb down characters and plot, and this show doesn't do either. I neither like nor dislike any of the characters who have had screen time, but most of them are very well realized and fleshed out. Or they at least have one moment where you can see through to what makes them tick. I mean, my God, S2, episode 2, "Flight 1," has a scene between Don Draper and Peter Campbell that literally made me pause and rewind and bask it in and the way it underlined the complex relationship between the two. It's also the scene that moved me to squee here.

To stop my procrastination, I end by saying: yep, Mad Men is good. Me likey.

I always seem to get on the bandwagon late too. I think once Kyle takes off on the next deployment I'm going to sit down and watch this show because it really sounds like something I think I'll enjoy.

It's good TV. Subtle, complex, funny. Definitely working for me so far.

Yay! Mad Men really is amazing and I love how it can do those character/relationship moments. There's a recent episode that was heavy on that and it was AMAZING.

I've been dragging out the viewing, which is a first for me. Usually if I love a show and I have it on box set I cram the viewings in. But I find I really want to savor this show. It's great.

Throughout Season 1, I kept looking at Peter Campbell and saying 'Cooner!' (Angel reference)

So HE's the one who played the weird super-aged child of Charisma? Hmm.

Yes he is! He was a smug child, and now he's a smug and angry adult! And he's gone backwards in time, but it all makes sense, doesn't it? Oh, Connor! (Okay, I have no idea how to spell it and don't care enough to look it up. Obviously, I spelled it really, really wrong in my first comment.)
