Week in Brief and Links
My week: blah blah knee pain, blah Dave and Busters, blah blah blah crazy busy job gah!
So there's that.
My most recent timesinks:
1. The [Adult Swim] website. More specifically the games section. Even more specifically Robot Unicorn Attack Heavy Metal. I'm sure everyone and their dad has played the original version of Unicorn Attack, but I find the Heavy Metal soundtracked version that much more riveting. I don't care that I haven't managed to stay alive for more than two minutes at a time. It also doesn't seem to matter that Heavy Metal causes Safari to unexpectedly shut down on me one out of four times. That makes it that much more hardcore!
For pure wtf-ery, the award goes to Bible Fight. The Virgin Mary vs. Jesus = Greek epic with finishing moves.
2. Fae Awareness Month, where you can watch, read, and discuss various works involving fae with writers and fans. I've found a number of books that I'm planning on hunting down and/or downloading and I've been squeeing over movies I watched when I was younger. Good times.
3. The Gothamist. Too many news snippet links, not enough time.
4. Vids of My Chemical Romance live at Venganza. Like so:
I luv you, Bob. Come back! Dress in silly costumes and play with Grant Morrison! *sad face*

I'm on the fence about heading down to Dragon*Con this year. Jo and I are planning a trip to London and Paris next year, and I'm wondering if I wouldn't be better off just hanging around the city Labor Day weekend (Panic! in Central Park on the 1st! The U.S. Open!) and saving the money. Yet I'm still holding onto my hard-fought hotel reservation. Decisions.

I'd like to see them in a show. *sigh again*

LOL. If I weren't having so many computer issues lately, I would have clicked immediately. I will have to content myself with the mental image. ^^

Bible Fight is completely perverse. Mary has a move called "Immaculate Deception" where she rises up to heaven and pops up behind her opponents. She also brandishes a rosary. Jesus causes fish and loaves to fall from the sky and pop people in the head. Noah is surprisingly bad-ass - he has throngs of animals mow people down. If my coordination was better I'd spend more time playing the game.
