Black and white

From E!Online:

"SEX REVELATIONS: The New York Daily News reporting that Cynthia Nixon is a lesbian and has been involved with a woman for almost 10 months. The Emmy-winning Sex and the City alum split from longtime boyfriend Danny Mozes, with whom she has two children, in June 2003. "

Is it at all possible that she's bisexual? Why is it that you either have to be straight or gay in our society? I'm just baffled by our need to throw labels and box everything (and everyone) in.

Yeah. That's all I can piece together at the moment.

It seems like people think that the less boxes that you have to pigeonhole people (or other things, for that matter) into, the better...maybe that's another reason why some people are so against non-heterosexuality...it makes them have more boxes to put people into.

Interesting

You know, I never really thought of it that way. It's a different angle from a pretty similar view. Very interesting. And I agree.

It's just our celebrity obsessed culture.

Person in the public eye + gay = news.

If the story were Cynthia Nixon may be bisexual it wouldn't be as interesting as just flat out calling her gay.

Stupid regardless, who cares what her sexual preference is? Why can't the story be Cynthia Nixon has met someone she's happy with? Just my opinion.

Can I join your utopian society? Purty please?

Heh. That'd be the day. The 4th sign is the press actually giving a shit about the happiness of celebrities.

I was just thinking that the only people I can think of in the public eye that have had well-known sexual relationships with women and that haven't been deemed gay are Angelina Jolie and Madonna...and that's because most people brush them off as slightly nutty hyper-sexual freaks. Any "normal" people are left or right, not center. And that's what makes the headlines.

Eh. You are so right, my friend.

I guess you missed the announcement - there's no such thing as bisexual. See, what was decided by The Powers That Be is that if you're involved with the opposite sex, you are Normal; if you then are involved with a member of the same sex, you are a Gay Homosexual who Wants To Get Married and is a Gay Activist; then if you are once again involved with a member of the opposite sex, you are Forever In The Tabloids.

Apparently.

Yes. I did.
