Live a little
Nov. 21st, 2006 12:31 amToday was my first twelve hour day. As I'd originally suspected, time flies when you're on the floor with a full patient load. Also as I'd originally suspected, by the end of the shift my feet were killing me. The one ray of light with that last point was that it was both feet and solely the feet; my bad ankle/knee didn't really act up. The nurse I worked with was loads more professional than the (albeit) nice one I was partnered with last Monday, and I left the floor feeling like I'd learned tons of stuff...one of those things being never get between an IV drug user and his Dilaudid, because he will make it his business to fuck your day up. Other than that, not too bad. Next day of work is Saturday - yay! to flex schedules!
Heroes was teh awesome tonight for the most part, 'cept for the time spent with Mohinder and the way the writers feel it their civic duty to leave crap unanswered. I don't watch Lost for a reason, peeps. But more Peter, please! I like the way he owned up to being a bit lame in the powers department if not in the vicinity of another super. There's a reason why pre-Ms. Marvel Rogue carried a gun, man. And wore high-heeled boots. Okay, maybe there wasn't necessarily a reason for that last bit, but Peter in high-heeled boots?
Moving on.
More randomness - I want the entirety of due South on DVD for Christmas. I'm all into the show and I haven't seen more than the pilot on YouTube *ahem*and read fic but yeah*ahem*. I'm all about the oblique silliness. And the Paul Gross. Oh yeah, with the Paul Gross...
Moving on again.
I got a kick out of seeing Emma Thompson recommend The Vintner's Luck in this week's Entertainment Weekly. Aside from the fact that she spoiled a huge surprise in the book with the phrasing of her rec (then again, what's an issue of EW without major spoilers of some sort, eh?), it'd be great to have certain people pick up the book (which is beautifully written, as Ms. Thompson states) and then find themselves gobsmacked by the...well, you know. It's a book I have to get around to purchasing.
Annnnnnnnnnnnnnnd sleep time. Sleep then study.
