So I'm sitting in Starbucks still sort of freaking out about my paper but working like mad (whoo - oh, and I'm so going to hit you lovely betas up in a couple of hours), and there are these Italian-American sounding guys (you know the accent and cadence I'm talking about) peppering their speech with some horrendously homophobic crap. The funny (throat-clearing funny, not funny "ha-ha"): my paper's on harassment and victimization of GLBT adolescents, particularly on verbal abuse. And I have tons of gay lit sitting on my table next to my grande sweetened iced green tea. Shyeah, okay.

ETA - I'm home and in my backyard. Wireless rocks because I totally have connection out here. Whoo. Now if only the huge-ass bees that have made their home in our garage would stop buzzing by my head like I'm an air traffic control tower (plzthx) I'd be all good. Whoo.

I'm going to be so whoo'd out in a little bit.

I'm going to stop journaling now.

That's a great topic for a paper...would you mind if I ask to read it?

Go paper! You can do it! I hate guys like that. Probably closet cases, the lot of 'em. bleh.

I'm half afraid to think what would happen if you did this, but what if you "accidentally" dropped one of the books near one of them and then ask him to pick it up. See how he reacts.

Just forwarded you an article I found last term on the topic. Dunno if you can use it but I found it an interesting read all the same. Sent to your lj-address.

Sure. The topic's great but I can't vouch for the paper. At this point I just want to sleep until next week. But there are some great findings. So most likely bad writing but good material. I'll e-mail it to you when I'm done.

Ain't that always the way. What is it with men and their insecurities?

Ha. If the big ole honkin' rainbow cover on the Gay Rights books I had on my desk didn't make 'em shut up I don't think doing that would make a difference. Moot point anyway, as the constant Sheryl Crown soundtrack made me beat a hasty retreat. Next time, though.

Oh, great paper topic. It's actually something a person would want to research.

That's a fantastic topic. Don't worry you'll finish your paper in time. Procrastination develops character and helps you eloquently bs you way to an A! Lol, ok well not always but I'm tryin' ;-] I send you lots of love and luck. BTW I got the package you sent me and I like it a lot thanks duckie ;-]. Mini-me has been trying to claim it as hers too.

Thanks for the support. It's...erm...roughly 3 AM and I have yet to e-send the report to my professor. I figure she wakes up around 7 or so, I have another 3 hours before I really just have to give in and press "send". At the point where I sorta don't care anymore. Whee! :)

I'm glad you liked the gift. I wandered into the store and it just caught my eye. Seemed so bright and vibrant and cute I thought instantly of you and Mini-You. Didn't mean to cause a war over it. *grin*

I had to express icon love. Luna! Can't wait to see her in the next movie.
The freedom in choosing a topic was great, allowing me to pick something I'd been interested in for a while. Of course, there is that saying about having enough freedom to hang yourself with, isn't there?
