It's that time of year.
Oct. 11th, 2004 07:28 pmI love the cold, I really do. But I'm very susceptible to sore throats. I'm thinking it has something to do with my larynx but eh. I didn't go through medical school, this is just idle speculation. It doesn't help that my bed is positioned right under two windows. Two *non-insulated* windows (thanks, dad, for half-assing that job). So I'm coming down with something. Always fun. I'm going to have to find it in me to move my bed to another area of the room, especially if the Farmers Almanac is right for this winter and it's flippin' harsh as a muth. But that would involve moving all my junk and putting stuff in the garbage, so ::shrug::. I'll either wait until I come down with bronchitis or I'll get my brother to head down to Home Depot with me to buy a little insulation and caulk. Get all Bob Villa on my windows. Yeah. *cough*
The folks come back tomorrow. Joy. It's been so quiet and non-stressful with them gone (well, sort of). School's back in session tomorrow, too. There's no more vacation until Thanksgiving, which is such a downer. I've been getting used to getting a day off every two weeks or so. I can look forward to an Anatomy test and a painfully drawn-out Chem Lab on Friday. Again with the joy.
I'm feeling crappy enough that I'm thinking about not going in to class tomorrow (one of my long days). I have to take notes for that lady in Physics, though. Dang it. And I've missed one Italian class already. So, dang it.
Back to Anatomy.

You obviously have insurance
Date: 2004-10-12 07:39 pm (UTC)That's an option if your house is warm. Mine is a wooden, creaky thing. Poorly insulated. I don't need to open the windows, because the place is always freezing with a capital "f". I like the cold weather, and I like when it's *cool*, to the point where thermals and socks are effective. I draw the line when I have to wear scarves and layers to bed (which I have to do once Jan-Feb hits). I want a house that is warm, and I want an environment that's cold; you know, so you have a place to avoid frostbite. My susceptibility to sore throats also doesn't make the window opening thing logical.
You obviously have some kick-ass insurance, 'Landy. Because the whole window thing when it's below 25F outside? just scanny. Most likely Blue Cross. Or maybe you're just *money* like that, in which case, rock on!
