A bright beginning to a long day

fredericksJust came back from notetaking for the witch in Astronomy. That wasn't the bright spot. Her constant lateness always has be on edge, hoping beyond hope that she's out for more than 15 minutes, so I can break the hell out of there. When she walks in *woosh*, it's such a heartbreaker. I hate that gorram woman.
Anywhose, this morning in English (for which I finally finished my reading ahead of time; the things Audre and Kitty do with plantains in that thing...websites have been made around them, that's all I've got to say), we ended up having a little detour to discuss the results of the election. So cathartic. I didn't know that Bush's going to pick 4 more Supreme Justicers. And, yes, the hell happened to separation of church and state? Bush won on a morals ticket. The girl next to me just kept shaking her head and muttering "I can't believe Bush won". I laughed, but then the draft possibility got raised (we'll eventually run out of able soldier to send over, right?, if we keep fighting this fight against these vague enemies) and I got to thinking about my *brothers* being sent over and I stopped.
The actual ruminating wasn't a bright spot, but the venting/discussion/highlighting was (this being a gay/lesbian lit class, the class as a whole seemed to be Democratic...or, at least anti-Bush, which I think most people that voted for Kerry were).
Now, if only the rest of the day keeps up this way, I might actually make it home with a smile on my face.
