Off to bed

I'm here lolling around a bit. I should most likely be getting ready for bed because I'm tired as heck, but American Justice is on (love this show) and I'm looking at various nursing school sites. I sort of have a handle on where I maybe want to apply - inexpensive is good, and a big city area is also good. Unfortunately those two don't usually correlate. I was originally looking at Pace University in the city here (they have a Manhattan campus, although I think the nursing school is located in Long Island?) but it is a tad pricey (not nearly as much as Brown, but still) AND it's close to my house. I really would prefer to live out of my house. The monetary security of living at home, of course, is a plus...but there's only so much I can take from various family members. Even if I have to splurge on dormitory expenses, I think I'll be able to stomach it. In my quick perusal of the Nursing Program book I borrowed from the library Drexel, Yale, Thomas Jefferson, U. of Tampa, and Vanderbilt came up as possibilities. This is so hard. Stressful. The GREs are going to be a hassle. Oh well.

ETA - I haven't watched QAF in around four months. Maybe more. I have no idea what's wrong with me. I guess I just got tired of the hackneyed storytelling. I DO have a hankering for some QAF-UK, though. They aren't as cute, but the story's what's important, no?

Batman Begins looks like it's going to be the hotness. That trailer? is not a trailer at all. It's a cruel cruel teaser, and the people that created it to torture me deserve to be mangled by blunt objects. Christian Bale and a guy in a faux rubber suit? Great. Christian Bale AS a guy in a faux rubber suit? Genius. Sign me up.

Now, seriously, I'm washing up and getting my ass to sleep.

I agree that Christian Bale is teh hotness. But, I was kinda disappointed in the Batman Begins trailer. I'm not sure why... It looked kinda gray, I guess. Now, don't fool yourself.. I will DEFINITELY be there, but it looked very drab. Maybe it's a good thing. They definitely don't need to make another spectacle of themselves, a la Batman & Robin, Batman Forever, etc.

Thing is, I like the monochromatic nature of the trailer. I'm very much influenced by Frank Miller's Batman ideal of the Dark Knight, and I'm so damn happy they've left behind Schumacher's classic comic color scheme from the last two atrocities. Heh. I actually watched Batman and Robin in the theatres, mainly due to my nonsensical teen fascination with the nonsensical "Kiss From a Rose". The nipples scared me away from the last one though.

But, come on - you can't tell me the anticipation building they use in the trailer doesn't kick ass? The only work Batman says is at the end, and he whispers it before (supposedly) whaling on some random dude. Great closing effect.

Good point.

Kiss From a Rose was my favorite song in high school. It wasn't until recently when I read the misheard lyrics topic at FT that I realized the words were "Kiss from a rose on the GRAY", not "GRAVE", which royally pissed me off. What the hell does that even mean? Well, the other way doesn't make THAT much sense either, I suppose.

You made me spit out my Diet Coke onto my monitor. You know I'm befriending you, right? Speak now or forever go into pieces.

I made the same mistake. The HELL do *any* of the lyrics of that song mean? Perhaps its some British idiom that I never heard of about...getting kissed by inanimate objects that are growing on color mixtures of black and white pigment? Even when you try to analyze it it defies description.

The only part of the song I got was the part right before the chorus. Everything else was sung earnestly but in a mealymouth fashion. And you know what? No one was the wiser.

Ignorance is bliss, I say. I would have lived a happy life not knowing what the real lyrics were. Stupid sexy fametracker.

Anyway, it's so weird. With most songs that I hear on the radio, I'll really, really like them until I find out what the real lyrics are. The mystique is gone, and so is my love.

Stupid sexy fametracker.

AND you paraphrase The Simpsons. Mein Gott, you're like my alternate universe domestic partner (or if we were Canucks, my wife). If this is wrong I don't want to be right.

Whenever I read the "stupid sexy [blank]" I always see Flanders posing in that form-fitting red and black ski suit. I'm a sad sad excuse of a pathetic human being.
