Okay, so I've been plodding through this cesspool of information for how long now? Trying to obtain the perfect research question for Prof. Wincze. Last time I met with him (eons and eons ago) I was all excited about doing something on how Internet use might possibly stunt the development of social skills in adolescents...and, per usual, I was shot down. He said it was too broad to tackle, if I can recall. Well, I'm searchin' the web again and I come across a wondrous article penned in 2001 titled, what: "The Impact of Computer Use on Children's and Adolescents' Development". Yes indeedy doo. A tightly written article coming in at only 24 pages (which is probably 21 pages sans references and that translates to around maybe 50-60 pages MAX double spaced, typed in standard form). Too broad, eh? WTF! Yeah, they go into offline gaming (Nintendo), but they touch on basically everything I was interested in and (think) I mentioned to Wincze.

ARGH!! ARGH!! ARGH!! Can't think of words to say. ARGH!!

  • It's entirely too cold in this computer lab. I'm totally rockin' the nipple confidence, along with more than half of the other occupants. Brings to mind one of my favorites lines from Sinbad: "Whoa, watch it! You'll poke out someone's eyes with those". It's totally in context too.
  • There's an annoyingly cute girl at the computer right across from me. It's making it hard to look at the monitor without making it seem like I'm checking her out (I'm not, really; too cold and sick at the moment).
  • Speaking of work, I really should stop d/l-ing music and start pondering WTF I'm going to tell Wincze tomorrow.
  • Hey, I found a neat Harry Potter related site where y'all can debate whether or not Neville's going to kick major booty or not in book 6 (I'm in the "yea" camp).
