I'm not feeling so hot right now, so (yet again) I apologize if this entry is craptacular. I'm in the middle of my menses ("riding the red bullet", "traversing the Red Sea", "that thing at the end of the sentence", call it what you will) and I'm wishing that someone would bop me over the head and put me out of my misery. 'Sfunny. Ten years ago I was hoping and praying that I could get it and twenty-five years from now I'll probably be mourning its loss, but at the moment I wish it'd just go far far away. Ye gods, have I shared too much yet? Okay, moving on.

Yesterday was just chock-full of media fun. Got around to seeing the new Sofia Coppola flick Lost in Translation, and I now officially want to visit Japan. That movie is just one huge travel brochure for the country. I can't vouch for Coppola's acting ability (or lack thereof) because (heaven help me) I never got around to finishing the Godfather Trilogy, and I didn't enjoy her first movie, The Virgin Suicides, but I loved this one. Nice atmosphere flick. I actually went straight out after the movie and picked up the soundtrack, something I've never been moved to do before. Of course, I decided to pick it up on the strength of some songs that were sung during a karaoke scene (usually the kiss of death for any movie, but this one made it work) and (of course) they were left off the soundtrack. No matter. I'm still enjoying it. A funny thing that happened while I was watching the movie: there was a scene where Charlotte and Bob are lying in bed gradually falling asleep, and, between the wonderful photography and soothing music, I actually felt like I was in my own bed as well. Hmm. That makes it seem like I was falling asleep, but I wasn't. I can't describe it, but it was such a great moment. Great movie too, one of the few non-action movies that I think needs to be seen on a big screen with Dolby Sound, if only for the wonderful shots and kick-ass score. Have I mentioned that I really liked the movie? I have? Okay, moving on.

Before the movie I decided to be evil and splurge on the boxed sex Season 3 of The Simpsons [I forget whether you underline, add quotation marks to, or bold TV shows, and at the moment I'm too lazy to check, so all you editors out there take a rest, okay? okay! Ed.], because I checked my account and I had more money than I though (stupid, I know) and I felt like doing it, dammit! Also picked up Book One of Gaiman's Sandman series (I never did get around to reading his stuff). When I came home I found my Amazon order in: the complete nine episodes of Fox's live action The Tick (it came out on Tuesday! Yay! and, oh yeah, SPOON!), the special edition DVD of Fargo (best.movie.EVER), and Book Three of The Dark Tower series (because I didn't have it before). Okay, total waste of money, but it made me feel a mite better, especially after the great time I had at the movies.

*sigh* Well, really not much to say besides that. Still hurtin', but nodding my head to the LiT soundtrack, so it's all good in this 'hood.

Spoon, babee! SPPOOOOOON!
Over and out.

Overtime entry - Ha! The soundtrack has Bill Murray's karaoke version of More Than This as a hidden track. HI-larious!
