If the first true paragraph of the story is this (note the part in italics):
A white woman with a bachelor's degree typically earned nearly $37,800 in 2003, compared with nearly $43,700 for a college-educated Asian woman and $41,100 for a college-educated black woman, according to data being released Monday by the Census Bureau. Hispanic women took home slightly less at $37,600 a year.

Why is the headline this:

Census: College-educated white women earn less than blacks, Asians

Which, on its own, isn't too bad. But, then again, the link TO the story is this:

Census: White Women Earn Less

*
Here I was thinking, hmm, this is unusual; out of all the minority women in this country do whites really earn less on average? Then I read the first paragraph and wanted to throw something at the collective CNN.com staff. I suppose white women with bachelors have a lower rate of employment than minorities too, huh? Sure.

The rest of the story seems to be a backtrack from that ridiculous headline.

It's raining. It's been raining for most of the day. Heavily.

I usually like it when it rains. The sound of the drops hitting the pavement and my windows is very soothing. Almost erotic. I have this recurring daydream where I'm having the best sex of my life inside a sparsely decorated house with huge bay windows and an open deck during a spring storm.

(And the mass exodus of my friend's list begins...NOW)

What can I say? It's comforting. I find it much more happy to be (me, I guess) when it's cloudy and coming down outside. Forget about thunderstorms. Love 'em. Not so much when they knock out the power, though. My general routine is to lay back on the bed and play some classical. My rule against Romantics can be broken only when its raining - out comes the Rachmaninoff and the Liszt and late Beethoven (so I'm only for the early ones...sue me). Bach's always my go-to guy too: I've been playing Maggie Cole's take on the Chromatic Fantasia and Fugue a lot this weekend (thank you, Queens Library!).

If only I could freeze time for a little while. My headphones are blocking out any outside sounds, I'm drinking some green tea, and I'm chilling with the rain. Schoolwork? Feh! Who needs it?
