I get that a lot from patients - "I trust you" or "I have more faith in you than the doctors" (not that there's a competition going on), even "I know your job is difficult" - but there isn't a lot of talk about skill involved. I suppose if you play the comparison game when it comes to educational requirements MDs win hands-down and that's why people are more willing to label them the intelligent folks in the hospital setting, however you really don't want an uneducated person handling your medication. Just...I don't know. I suppose it's a personal sore spot.
