I've had a craptastic couple of days, capped by Governor Patterson's announcement of a potential 3.5 billion (BILLION!) healthcare cut to the state, with the bulk of that proposed cut being felt in NYC.

Date: 2008-12-17 04:05 am (UTC)Our budget is eff'd up, but I don't see why education and healthcare seem to be the focus of the trimming. Crack down on Medicare and -caid abuse, sure, but 3.5 BILLION?? And isn't our educational system underperforming? what, taking away shit (like the inevitable art and phys ed cuts on the way, among other things) is going to make it all better. Jesus.

Just go with whatever has openings in your area at the time. Hell, maybe I'll start seriously looking at California for work options. Not that they're that much better off than NY, but still. 3.5 Billion. BILLION. The mind boggles.
