I haven't mentioned WW in a while but, yes, I'm still all up in that piece. The company is a money-making entity, but the actual weight-loss techniques are based on cognitive-behavioral theory that a) warm the cockles of my psych major heart and b) works quite well for me. Yesterday, at my weekly meeting, all those in attendance were told that our meeting time would be changed due to a drop in numbers and that our group leader would not run the new meeting. I could do without my current leader (she mentions she's lost 72 lbs at least four times during the forty-five minute session and she's heavy-handed when it comes to pushing us to buy WW products) but the other ladies present were in a tizzy, to the point where one said she'd seriously consider leaving WW. WTF? If it's working for you with your weight loss efforts, maybe you'd want to continue? Eh, whatever. I'm stoked that the new leader we're going to have is a woman whose style I really enjoy.

No work! I've been off since yesterday and I feel GREAT. Not looking forward to going back next week. Still need an intervention for my hair (sweet Lord, it needs a miracle at this point), but no rush as I find I have no patience for beauty parlors. Waiting for more than half an hour to sit under a dryer for forty+ minutes? brings out the ADHD in me.

Wrapped up the LeBron James book Shooting Stars. It was a tad disappointing, definitely a renter if anyone was interested. Am re-attempting my re-attempt of the Codex Alera books because the last one comes out next Monday.

Am hooked on Glee, since I caught up on the episodes yesterday. Last week's eppy with its Kurt and Kurt's dad moments? Yeah, I teared up. I'm such a sap. This week's, though? Huh? I enjoyed parts of it but there was so much right field it wasn't even funny. Still going to watch, though.

K, let me go and try to be productive. Maybe.

I am oblivious to the psych-stuff of WW (though I'd definitely be interesting in hearing your thoughts on it), but yay! I'm glad it's working for you. I've been pleasantly surprised by it all myself. I ended up dropping the meetings (I got sick of listening to people complain about avoiding food on Thanksgiving/Christmas, especially when I wholeheartedly believe in splurging from time to time, what with the weekly points and all) so it's been significantly less expensive and it's nice to see I'm still able to lose with the eTools. I do like the meetings in general, though, and I'm glad you like the new leader more!

And, after that ramble, it's time to catch up on that Glee ep you were talking about.

That's my main gripe about the meetings - people say things like "I had a bad day" when refer to eating more than they'd like and I feel like they're not doing a food job of reframing their eating habits and thought process in order to try to foster a healthy relationship with food. 90%+ of the folk I've heard share in meetings are overweight because they eat to fill an emotional need, and I think leaders should attempt to at least point out to people how often they connect food to emotion or feelings. But my leader wasn't that strong, imo. Meh. Personally I tried just doing the online tools and found I felt more accountable for my actions trudging into the meeting room every week. Yes, I occasionally zone out during discussion, but I feel like hearing the topics helps me focus on food and diet and eating.

How long have you been doing WW? Anything you've found that particularly works for you besides what you've mentioned?
