"And Man created gyms, with sweaty cardio equipment and stinky patrons as far as one's eyes could see." Actually got out to the gym today to work out with the bros. The people who signed up post-New Years seem to have disappeared, and it's not been warm enough to get the folks concerned about finding their "beach bods" hogging the equipment, so I had a pleasant experience.

Yes, that substantial entry? Not making an appearance today.

It really is a sweet spot in terms of gym time, isn't it? We didn't get the usual run of New Year's resolution folks this year, which was nice. Or more likely, they all went to the shiny new gym and my older gym is a lot less crowded. Bad for business but nice for me.

Very much so. The relative quiet at the gym will last until...late April/May. When it's warm outside and people are sweatier. Always fun.

My gym is large enough that there usually isn't a wait for a machine, but it's just annoying when a lot of folks are in the gym gunking up the water fountains, throwing paper towels everywhere, not wiping machines, etc etc.

And even when the gym is less crowded it's still making money. It's actually *recouping* cash at that point, because people are still paying their monthly pass rates but the gym doesn't have to put out for as much maintenance.
