fredericks: (You added a rainbow?)

K! So I'm flipping through the channels last night (btw, I worked this weekend. It was AWFUL. Don't ask. Unless you want a rant PM'd to you), and I stop on Holmes on Homes. And I'm almost instantly hooked. So I run around my house asking its occupants "hey, you ever seen Holmes on Homes?" And all those bastards, to a one, reply "yes, it's pretty good." WTF!! Why didn't anyone tell me? I mean, yes, the way it always seems to end with Holmes berating shoddy construction projects and lazy workers can get a bit repetitive, but it's neat to see him point out what should and should not go down in regards to home building (although are Canadian building codes the same as American codes?) Nevertheless, I ended up (mostly) staying up until midnight last night watching the show (I fell asleep before the hour was up, so didn't get to see the new bathroom Holmes and his crew had produced.

Work holiday party has been moved to the 2nd week of January. I'm on vacation then. However, I also have a union dinner/inauguration thing to attend. Totally not cool.

I still have not seen the new Mission: Impossible or Sherlock Holmes. I am very very bummed about this.

Okay, LJ folks - stop leaving! Y'all just keep disappearing and then my sandbox is empty and have you tried playing in a sandbox by yourself? It's just sad.'

ETA - If you're dead set on pulling up stakes, I'm over on DW. Even though I haven't touched that journal since I made it. But: Fredericks over on DW.
Feel free to add me. Or add me to your circle. Or however things are done over there.

I KNOW. I Keep getting mad at LJ for doing stupid ass stuff that annoys me... but inevitably drives off yet another one of my friends. ARGGHHHH.

I keep stubbornly clinging, because I paid for this fucking account, and I've had this blog for more than a decade, damn it.

Dude, I'm still hanging on to my lame AOL account, and I had that thing since high school (I'm emo! I hang out at the Dragon Inn! God, those were the days.) I hate change. Short of LJ actually siphoning money out of my bank account or forcing me to sit through ads on my paid account I think I'm going to hang here for a while.

Mike Holmes is one of my heroes. I absolutely love everything that the man has done and continues to do....plus, his shows are pure renovation porn. :) If you like Holmes on Homes, you should check out Holmes Inspections.....it's his new show, it's on HGTV Sunday nights at 9 (and repeated many other times too).

I caught the commercials for Holmes Inspections. I intend to catch a couple of reviews to see what it's about. I think I'd watch Holmes on anything. And how many more plays on his last name do you think they can eek out? :)

I am still here, but oftentimes, I am more of an LJ lurker. *shrugs*

Likewise. A lurky lurking lurker. Livejournal is now Lurkjournal.

I don't have anything intelligent to say, but I love the icon (just got through rewatching Avatar with my brother, and that scene is so cute!) and I'm not going anywhere unless I'm forced out, but what the hey, I do also have a DW (though so far I only use it to read one friend's journal, never post) so, FRIENDED! XD

(I'm goofy tired, right now.)

Anything with Sokka is golden. "Foo Foo Cuddly Poops" is going to be the name of my next pet.

Where does your icon come from, btw?

Oh! It's George Carlin's sports cheer. XD

Hehe, yeah, Sokka is awesome. ♥

I'm still here, mostly because of the comms. And all my friends are here.

The new Sherlock Holmes movie is amazing. SO MUCH FANSERVICE!

Also, I keep meaning to ask: why "fredericks"?

From: [identity profile] fredericks.livejournal.com
1. Fanservice FTW! I want to try to see one of these movies today. MYCROFT, I love you. :)

2. Fredericks is the name of a character I pilfered from a fantasy book by Tad Williams. (http://books.google.com/books?id=TA61E3-I6QgC&pg=PT708&lpg=PT708&dq=fredericks+tad+williams&source=bl&ots=uLrKRggn1L&sig=w-DTdMRQbYk37C1yrzQDQskQTvY&hl=en&sa=X&ei=4Gb0TpuzE8Hr0gG_76y6Ag&ved=0CDIQ6AEwAA#v=onepage&q&f=false) She was a young black girl who spent a lot of time in the virtual reality that made up the book playing a RPG with her online friend. The "reveal" of her being a black girl happened later on in the book, as the Fredericks we meet was a RPG guised as a stereotypical white male fantasy barbarian-type. The character worked for me when I was setting my online identity up 10 or so years ago.

My desire to see Mission Impossible is (a) significant and (b) entirely due to the presence of Renner. I'm shallow. I can't lie.

I generally love RDJ, but I can't get behind the Sherlock Holmes movie franchise. Sherlock Holmes, man of action (and man without a drug problem) seems Not Quite Right to me.

I don't know Renner outside of his brief scene in Thor, but he really is one of main reasons to see MI as well. That at Mr. Pegg, of course. Renner seems like a cool guy. And gotta love the eye candy.

You've seen the BBC Sherlock, correct?
