It's nearly 2004!

fredericksA happy and merry holidays to all the people that take the time to read my journal. Hope the end of December has been particularly bright.
My brothers and I got a chance to go see Return of the King yesterday. Now THAT was seriously fun. Me likey the fighting. Me likey very much.
Ah, Frodo and Sam. They're the poster children for really close platonic male friendships and ambiguously gay male couplings. Every time they glanced at each other and the music changed to that sweeping theme one of us would start up mimicking a porn wah-wah groove. The reunion scene near the end when all of the Fellowship were in the elven bedroom? To tell you where our minds were at, I said "there's no way Gimli can fit in that bed", one of my brothers started up with the porn groove, and I nearly pissed my pants.
And Legolas: HELLLLOOOO Captain Obvious! I mean, damn, all the guy states is what's apparent to anyone with two eyes. Por ejemplo - "there's red in the moon; there shall be bloodshed tonight". Ja, well, y'all have Orcs riding your asses, don't you? Sweet Bejesus. His role is so small and redundant I really don't know why Orlando Bloom has been landing accolades for his role, besides the fact that the hair does him some good. At least he's not Gimli and reduced to comic fodder and one-liners.
But that was still a kick-ass movie. Good times.
Off to the 'Shack. I suppose I'll have something of interest to say when I come back.
