I very rarely can find it in me to make it to shows and concerts so I usually don't have to deal with being the only black person at performance venues (don't let me get started on my experience on The Fragile tour, though).
School, of course, was a whole 'nother matter.
And I'm glad I made you watch Wonder Showzen. I'm sure you are. It definitely had its moments. D.O.G. O.B/G.Y.N. will stay with me for a long LONG time.
