I enjoyed it. I didn't think it was corny... it definitely had an amusing tone to it, but I think it worked. I love that you wrote the story from the perspective of a tribute band member – was very fun to read.
*grin* I'm glad you enjoyed the story. The tribute band idea came from a Klosterman article I read that I can vaguely recall consciously, just adding to the hilarity. For me, at least.
I knew when I linked it to my journal that it was no Hemingway, but it made me happy because I've had a hell of a time sitting down and writing anything coherently in a long time. My journal entries from a couple of months back were nothing more than jumbles of thoughts that rarely made sense. I blame it on a number of relationships that sapped my energy or the alignment of Venus, whathever gets me through the day.
