fredericks: (Leavin' Kobol Behind)

Okay, [livejournal.com profile] sibyline: I'm awake and officially wasting time, I wanna do it too. *grin*

If I'm off-base with any of these, please let me know.

[livejournal.com profile] 1x2foralways I met at [livejournal.com profile] queerasfolkfans and we got better acquainted through a Queer as Folk RP I ran for a short while. I also met a couple of other people over there, all of them wonderfully pervy: [livejournal.com profile] fauxorzayus, [livejournal.com profile] devoosha, [livejournal.com profile] citizenjess, [livejournal.com profile] witchylass, [livejournal.com profile] marinwood, [livejournal.com profile] living_kindness, [livejournal.com profile] poobaby728, and [livejournal.com profile] lostmiseashellz. [livejournal.com profile] joeyrz too! [D'oh!] I was her personal Tivo for a little while. *grin* I loved getting people their badly scripted and totally cheesy fun QAF.

[livejournal.com profile] adastra16 I found by doing a LJ interest search on The Coldfire Trilogy. A first, I'm pretty sure [livejournal.com profile] kommisar found me. I think he was intrigued by my more open postings way back when I started the journal and my tales of working in the school cafeteria (God do I miss DJing and forcing the masses to listen to my musical selections).

I'm convinced I found [livejournal.com profile] candicelbj's journal one night doing a random search, although I may be wrong. I think I found [livejournal.com profile] saphirrisse's the same way.

I've met two people via [livejournal.com profile] sesuadra: [livejournal.com profile] quenya_tattoo, who used to be moderator over there in a former life, and [livejournal.com profile] xwinterwolfx, whom I occasionally feel comfortable dubbing Orlando (because I'm special like that).

Damn, [livejournal.com profile] zelle999, how'd we meet up? I feel convinced I stalked you for a bit and then we realized we were sisters from another mother or something of that nature. Random search, anyone?

I've only met, face-to-face, four of the people on the Friend's List (not that I'm complaining about that, although now you all should take treks to NY to visit me). [livejournal.com profile] urbanspell I sort of knew before he knew me, as he worked in the Registrar's Office, was it? One of those. I saw his posts at [livejournal.com profile] cunyhunter ([livejournal.com profile] teabags also posted over there). I walked up to him after having dealt with him a number of times and was like "Are you ____"? and he was like "Who the hell is this chick?" No. He was very polite. *grin* [livejournal.com profile] sibyline, [livejournal.com profile] laughingirl, and [livejournal.com profile] sternel I met via the [livejournal.com profile] nycbookclub meetings [I totally plan on finishing the book this weekend, too].

[livejournal.com profile] endgame50 I've known for basically forever when it comes to my 'net life. I'm pretty sure he was the first friend (and I feel confident in using the "f" word, at least on my side of the equation) I made online...maybe 9 years ago? I can't remember. Red Dragon Inn; oh, the memories.

The lot of you (waves to [livejournal.com profile] snacktastic, [livejournal.com profile] aubkabob, [livejournal.com profile] bbart,[livejournal.com profile] darker_one, [livejournal.com profile] daymare47, [livejournal.com profile] destroyrapture, [livejournal.com profile] djinuper, [livejournal.com profile] earenfana, [livejournal.com profile] ellyssian, [livejournal.com profile] emily_goddess, [livejournal.com profile] faedrake, [livejournal.com profile] fallen_ophelia, [livejournal.com profile] fatgoblin, [livejournal.com profile] frosty_pickle, [livejournal.com profile] lab_brat, [livejournal.com profile] layana1980, [livejournal.com profile] lasombrakate, [livejournal.com profile] light_over_me, [livejournal.com profile] living_daemon, [livejournal.com profile] lostcrackerjack, [livejournal.com profile] lunajewels, [livejournal.com profile] melancthe, [livejournal.com profile] peacelizard, [livejournal.com profile] phoenix_raging, [livejournal.com profile] pr_spin_girl, [livejournal.com profile] raven_star, [livejournal.com profile] rwarner, [livejournal.com profile] stop_no_dont, [livejournal.com profile] taii, [livejournal.com profile] thegoodgoddess, [livejournal.com profile] theoban, [livejournal.com profile] tjfalcon, [livejournal.com profile] twoworldsin1, [livejournal.com profile] uuljaar, [livejournal.com profile] vladspod, [livejournal.com profile] waremtae, [livejournal.com profile] wc_dragon, [livejournal.com profile] wyldemusick and (last but not least) [livejournal.com profile] xioley (whew!) I'm 99% sure I met through the various add_me communities I've found in the last couple of months or so. ...et tu, [livejournal.com profile] orpheus78? Either that or it was a random search thing.

I think that's it. Hmm. Sure is a lot of people. And I don't hear from more than half of y'all. It's like family. Watch I hit the LJ lottery or something and everyone'll start crawling out of the woodworks. Heh.

If I missed someone it wasn't intentional, heart's promise.

yesm, for people who had rufus sewell listed as an interest. its sad that i remember that so well. I do remember saying to myself that you were smart, wrote like you had an education, and was actually interesting. why is she adding me?

hey, how ya doin.

by the way, school cafeteria DJing?

From: [identity profile] fredericks.livejournal.com
Yes! Rufus Sewell search. I remember it like it was yesterday. Sort of, not really, but yeah. *grin*

Re: school cafeteria DJing - I used to supervise at the campus cafeteria that had a stereo system and speakers in both dining rooms. I played whatever I wanted, more or less. Led Zeppelin was pretty popular, as were Depeche Mode and Radiohead.

Wow....Red Dragon Inn. That sounds very familiar. Think there was a chat area named that on an old "online service" I was on back in the fall of '91. The service was called Quantum Link, it was for Commodore 64/128 users. *hides* Yes, I just proved how ancient I am. :)

Date: 2005-12-07 05:31 am (UTC)
From: [identity profile] tjfalcon.livejournal.com
Oh man, I remember that. Quantum Link became Q-Link which was, I believe the early basis for AOL. Before that it was Geos. Oh man, I'm old.

From: [identity profile] fredericks.livejournal.com
Yes, both of you are ancient. I'm surprised y'all haven't turned to dust and blown away in the wind yet.

I pranced around the RDI found on AOL proper (carried over from Q-Link, I guess). It was rather idiotic, as the rooms were populated by kids who, for the most part, had no idea how to role play and kept hitting on other characters for absolutely no reason.

From: [identity profile] ellyssian.livejournal.com
I visited the AOL:RDI a handful of times... maybe 1994-5ish...

(In this case, a "handful" is defined as "several hundred, but probably less than a thousand")

Really? *grin* I admire your perserverance. So there were actually people over the age of 7 (mentally) populating the rooms. Hmm.

Yep, back in those days you just ignored most of them... once in a while a half-way decent RP opportunity presented itself.

That's ok. I think there is always half the family you don't want to hear from anyway.

Of course there is. Sometimes more than half. But as I had a choice in the people on my Friend's List with the expectation that some sort of interaction would go on it's a little disappointing when you realize that there's none.

I think you might have looked at my journal after I mentioned it on Fametracker. Is that right?

Anyway, I'm SO glad you did!

You need to come visit me someday.

Date: 2005-12-08 05:27 am (UTC)
From: [identity profile] fredericks.livejournal.com
Did I? Gah, can't remember.

But...a moment of silence for Fametracker, please. ::pulls out lighter:: I miss that place. They're entirely too strict over at TWoP.

Come visit you? You're all the way over there in Arizona New Mexico. There are, like, scorpions and killer bees and Republicans over there. *pouts*

Heh. I should come see you. I've always wanted to see the Southwestern US.

Okay, I recall that. God, I actually walked over to see some nerd fondle himself while in a gay chatroom. That he could do that in a public space - yeah, he obviously hadn't gotten any in a while.
Such a bonding experience.

Hey, since I have you here - my aunt is trying to find Wicked tickets. I know you're familiar with the ins and outs of Broadway: is there any way she can obtain tickets to a show in the near future without paying full price short of standing outside of the BO a couple of hours before the curtain rises?

Date: 2005-12-08 03:53 pm (UTC)
From: [identity profile] teabags.livejournal.com
She can try the TKTS Booth on 47th Street and Broadway - I know they sell tickets for that day's shwo at half price but...if she's looking for Wicked they may not have that because that show sells out. She can also try the Wicked cancellation line that usually starts like an hour or two before the show and they sell you tickets that people can't pick up for cheaper.

Yes, we met at add_me_25andup. I joined because I found most of my communities were full of 17-20 year olds and I felt the need for a few lj friends closer to my own age. That's what I get for being into "cartoons" right. anyway *waves* hiya! Be looking for a cheesy beach souvenir in the mail!

Be looking for a cheesy beach souvenir in the mail!
Ha! I'm positive it won't be cheesy, because a)it's the thought that counts and b)it's a present from you! Presents from friends, by definition, can't be cheesy. They're "cute". *grin*

There are a lot of older people into cartoons! You'd be surprised. I'm glad we found each other. You're super neato. And you save marine creatures. Bonus points!

Gah! I'll have to stalk Lynn and ask her. Her schedule makes her as hard to find as I am.

I'm hella curious as well. Don't suppose you can recall the name, can you?

I can't think of it to save my life. I did all kinds of LJ searches. Something about the loft? Or...something?

From: [identity profile] fredericks.livejournal.com
Hee! I just remembered and found it: [livejournal.com profile] __the_loft__. It would seem Brian sold the loft and moved onto domestic life with Justin. Or some shit. Aww. My baby's gone. Gone! *wail*

Man, God bless them. The game quality? Not so hot, by what I can gather from the public posts. Public posts; Lawd.
