Making sense of my day
Jul. 3rd, 2004 10:50 pmWe headed on into NYU Medical today to see the newest addition to my extended family. Ah, babies. To see that little one there in his bassinet, to know that he'd been around in the world for less than twelve hours, to see him and to know that he has infinite possibilities in front of him for just this moment in time...it was amazing. I held him in my arms and it was, I don't know, beyond words. It was different this time than with my brothers, mainly because I'm older and thinking more and more about having a family of my own. I looked down into his sleeping face and, this is going to seem so very disgusting melodramatic, but...everything else sort of melted away for a bit. His mom would glance at him every so often and just smile. So very sweet.
That was my afternoon, in a nutshell.
Saw "Spider-Man 2" this evening with the brothers. Mein Gott, that was a tremendously good movie. Definitely going to see it again. Both Ashy Larry ("Marcy Projects! Marcy, son, what?!?") AND Michael Novotny were in it. A two-fer-one event. And, just because he looked damn near edible during his screen-time, it's official - Hal Sparks has regained his spot as my fictional boyfriend. Sorry, Bana; there's always next year.
