Lord, give me strength

Mom's party is tomorrow and I am so very done with the entire thing. Have been done with it since sometime last week, I believe. The contact at the hall is a douche who cannot seem to return calls; I would not be surprised if my settings and specifications for the room aren't implemented by the time I head over there tomorrow evening. Family is CRAZY, and cannot seem to understand that this was supposed to be an intimate affair because it's bloody expensive and I'm not made out of money. Not to mention all the quibbling about who wasn't invited and who was told not to bring a friend (most people; I am not Bloomberg). The DJ is untested and I'm on the fence about my choice of photographers, but when shit's last minute people'll get what they get. If I don't run out of there screaming I'll call it a success.

Did MP3 Experiment Seven with captainschlumpy this past Saturday. Technical issues aside (my iPod decided to reboot about 3/4 of the way through the proceedings so I didn't do the whole "wrap a stranger up in toilet paper" part), it was fun. I was gifted with Kung-Fu for Girls, which is one of the scariest/funniest bits of DIYs I've ever ingested.

I'm sad that my workplace doesn't give Columbus Day as a holiday. No three day weekends until New Years (since I signed up to work Christmas). *sigh*
