This weekend was spent visiting youngest bros upstate with mom. It was Family Weekend at middle youngest bro's school and we'd initially planned on watching his football game (both of my brothers currently in college are on football scholarships), but since he had an away game scheduled (very away, as in at a school bordering Canada) we decided to drive over to baby bro's school in Morrisville. Baby bro's team is notoriously horrible, and they got waxed by their opponent, but it was nice to get to spent time with him and to drop off some non-perishables. I also remembered how annoyed I get when trying to deal with mom's neuroses on a one-on-one basis. She gets very jumpy when trying to operate in unfamiliar territory and I get very snippy with her blatant inability to cope and and don't help matters at all. But everyone came back home with sanity intact.

At this point I'm just trying to stay awake until Sherlock Holmes starts on PBS. I lucked out with a Daria marathon on LOGO. I guess LOGO is still at the stage where it pads its programming with anything it can get its hands on, a la "Comedy Networks" playing of Kids in the Hall and the Gallagher specials back in the day (this is not to say Gallagher and KitH are at all comparable). The missing original soundtrack really does change the feel of the show. The incidental tracks are forgettable at best and quite shitty most of the time. But the dialogue makes up for it.

Other than that, nothing much happening. Quiet weekends for the win.
