Jan. 30th, 2011 11:03 pmWe trekked up to Albany today to attend middle bro's Senior Football Dinner. "Dinner" even though it was served at 12:30pm. There really should have been brunch options, like bagels and poached eggs. Anyway, I'm so proud of middle bro! He was named Defensive MVP and got to share another award for being statistically the best defensive player. I got to sit in a room full of people and listen to his head coach go on and almost become teary-eyed at one point as he talked about his time working with middle bro. Really, so proud of him.
The rest of my w/e was rather inconsequential. My sick time/vacation combo that resulted in me missing almost three weeks of work has managed to decreased my stress level substantially. I'm not checking Outlook at home reflexively anymore and I'm giving myself more time at home in the mornings instead of rushing into the office to start an hour early. Then again, I've only been back one full week so far; let's hope I keep this up until the end of the year.
Oh, and for the ficcers on my list (all three of you), as I'm too lazy to set up a filter I share with you the story that made my return ride from Albany simply fly by: And the Embers Never Fade, a Killjoy's-verse long fic that integrates Bob Bryar into the universe. More Bob? Always a good thing.
