Oct. 11th, 2011 08:24 pmUpdating. So horrible at it.
Vacation was nice. Very relaxing. I refrained from looking at my Outlook e-mail box for almost the entire time, which was awesome x 1000. My plan was to catch up with various bits of paperwork and ridiculousness. I did, more or less, but I spent more time than I'd like to admit simply zonked out reading or watching TV/movies (still have caught up with Alphas, Archer, or It's Always Sunny, but oh well). I needed the time away. I'm hitting the three year mark at this current job and I'm getting a little stir-crazy. I hate change, but I forsee getting to the point where I hate the knot that gathers in my stomach when I think about seeing patients. But blah blah at least I have a paycheck.
I ended up taking my BFF Jo to Lure FishBar for a belated birthday present. Lure? Completely awesome, with great food. We weren't celebs or such so we were placed in a side booth, but it was (imo) a great spot for conversation. And the warm chocolate cake? HOMG, mouthgasm. The one negative was the place was quite noisy. That our table was on the side acted as a bit of a sound buffer.
Post vacation - this past Saturday I went with
desolate03 and
captainschlumpy to Mitsuwa Marketplace, a Japanese stripmall/beacon of cuteness out in Edgewater NJ via a shuttle from Port Authority. A person can spend hours walking up and down the aisles of the grocery alone. And the foodcourt selections look mouthwateringly good. I didn't know what to expect, so I came woefully unprepared when it came to toting all my goodies back (I bought a thermos-style bento and a couple of bags of noodles and soup fixings).
Looking forward to seeing Alan Rickman in Seminar on Broadway at the end of the month, Sherlock Holmes 2 (along with Sherlock Holmes Series 2), and, of course, AVENGERS!!! The AV Club's run down on the trailer is so very made of win.
