I keep meaning to write a really long post on my stress-filled yesterday but then I get guilted about wasting time on LJ instead of studying and end up doing "something else"...that "something else" generally NOT consisting of studying.

A glance at my breakdown for today -
Time at the dentist: 1 hour
Time in various stages of dinner preparedness: 2 hours
Time laundering money clothing: 1 hour
Time surfing the web: 1.5 hours
Time with my nose in a textbook supposedly studying: .5 hours
Time spent in mental masturbation: Infinity hours

Shyeah...things look real good for me. Promising. All-nighter much?
The oddest thing is that when I truly do not want to study while I'm trying to read my books I start daydreaming about two guys engaging in terribly captivating coitus. It's like my brain knows precisely what it has to do to screw me over. If there was ever a time I wished I had a couple of hits of Ritalin this is it.

On a completely unrelated (*snort*) note, the LOGO premiere of Fingersmith tomorrow looks hot very promising. I've always been fond of a period piece. Between Fingersmith, the marathon of Bob and Rose tonight (recorded for posterity; go me!) and the airing of Beautiful Thing in a couple of minutes I'm convinced LOGO has it in for my nursing career.

I have to add my amazing fuzzy and warm woolen hat to the "FUCK! I can't believe I lost it!" list. I either mistakenly left it in the bag of nursing supplies I handed back yesterday or it's riding the rails somewhere in Manhattan as I type. Damn it.

My icon - made by a fellow NYer. Man, the MTA union is acting a bit like a spoiled brat at this point. But I have to support my line, if nothing else.

Everyone is freaking out about that possible transit strike. The law firm I work at has planned to run vans and buses from various locations around the city in case of the worst. I doubt it's going to happen - there have been threats in the past that have always pulled out a solution in the end.

I don't think it's going to happen either, but the union was presented with a sweeeet deal this morning and they have yet to accept it. That takes balls and/or an amazing amount of stupidity. Then again, I highly doubt the other people in union leadership will allow Touissant to do anything resulting in hundred of thousands of fines.

And, dude! I have two finals scheduled for that day. I just don't want to have to do them in January. Sleeping over in the school Monday night just in case is a possibility (two girls did it on Thursday night because we had skill validation finals on Friday...the professor was planning on staying too, but once there was no peep from the union I guess she called it a night).

heh, and here I thought I was the only one that thought of guys together when I didn't want to do something. Hopefully, you don't giggle out loud like I do causing those around you to ask what you're thinking about. :)

Actually, the distracting daydream is a fairly new occurence for me. I'm usually good at squashing all such things until I'm drifting to sleep but now I'm so stressed about school that it seems I *need* something that will completely draw my mind from what's in front of me. The presence of other people kills it. Or, if I'm so tired that I DO fall into the habit I snap out of it quickly and have the most incriminating expression on my face.

*raises hand*

Include me in the category of "distracted by delectable slashiness" people. :)

*grin* The main difference being your slash is populated by men with HUGE...batons.

I will never get over how funny your composer fetish is to me. It's part of your wenchy charm, I suppose.

Teehee, the composer fetish has been pretty startling to me too! And I'm practically the only member of the "hot score composers" fandom, sadly ... *weepz* :)

I thought fingersmith was pretty good.. we had it air here a few months back. nowhere near as good as the book, and not as good as the television version of Tipping the Velvet (by the same author) but still, twas pretty good. :D

Now I want to get both those books. My vacation reading list grows and grows.

Doncha know procrastination is the best part of being in school? :P

It's like...how can something wrong feel so so right?
Up until deadlines, of course.

And, for shame! Procrastination isn't solely part of being in school; it's part of LIFE! *grin*
